The officially protected pots and plants sellers of Dharavi T junction first half blocked the footpath. Then fully occupied it. Now even the road has plants placed on it so that cars cannot park and obstruct their shops. All this for free. And motorists are made to pay road tax, parking charges etc etc. Soon these chaps will get electricity, water connection and pucca structures. Then government will use our tax money and use it to “rehabilitate” them in legal buildings. A reward for committing illegal activities. In india I think it’s best to be living a life that’s illegal. Scenes outside Western Railway Prabhadevi Railway Station. The approach road has turned into a muddy, slippery stretch due to the ongoing bridge work, forcing thousands of commuters to risk slips and falls every day. For months, Railways say the north-side staircase is stalled because माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC has not issued the required NOC. If that’s true, why has माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC delayed a critical public safety project? And if Railways knew this bottleneck existed, why was there no effective contingency plan to ensure safe commuter access? In the last 10 years, माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC has given approval to many projects by developers like Hiranandani Developers, Nahar Developers, Kanakia, Lodha, brookfied , GCC projects and many more, which are developing thousands of flats in the vicinity of Powai and Chandivali. The BMC has not cared to develop the required infrastructure, such as DP roads as per the DP plans, which has severely congested the area. Residents sat on a hunger strike demanding the completion of the 90-foot road connecting Chandivali Farm Road to JVLR, for which was in the DP plan since 1990 and a tender was approved, but after three years, the project still remains incomplete and only on paper. Similarly, the DP roads connecting Chandivali to Powai and Sakinaka to JVLR are also pending. Completing these roads would significantly decongest traffic in the area. Many such roads that have been in the DP plan since 1990 remain pending; if BMC is unable to keep pace with new developments, it should stop giving approvals to new projects. An upcoming project with around 600 flats and a commercial mall by Nahar Developer is coming up in Chandivali, yet the authorities still fail to provide the required and approved infrastructure (DP roads) to the residents. Appreciation post for these माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC staff Since heavy #MumbaiRains are expected, they are on road at Mulund since 3 days and cleaning all the trash and making sure LBS does not get flooded due to choked drainage. People are responsible for throwing trash openly which chokes the drainages. Its the same story everytime. We citizens need to step up and stop throwing trash around 🙏

Yesterday I was standing right next to the Taj and the shoreline looks like a landfill. Not exaggerating. It smells. It’s layered. It’s been sitting here. There are yachts parked out there. People dressed up for some event 20 metres away. Tourists pointing cameras at the Gateway. And then you look down. How does this exist in the same frame? The complete dewatering of Swami Vivekanand Sarovar #BandraTalao Ward HW BMC has now exposed some uncomfortable truths - exactly the concerns repeatedly raised earlier. The emptied talao clearly shows there is no major sewerage connectivity flowing into the lake from surrounding areas, despite this being used as one of the justifications for costly interventions. What is now visible is equally important, the natural springs remain active even after complete dewatering, with water still percolating into the talao. This raises serious concerns, during desilting and dredging, what safeguards exist to protect these natural springs?? Any damage could permanently alter the talao’s ecology and even risk drying up this historic water body in future. If sewer inflow was not the real issue, was an expensive Sewerage Treatment Plant even required ? The declining water quality perhaps had more to do with decades of stagnation and lack of continuous aeration/oxygenation. Could sustained aeration have solved the issue at one-third the cost ? Sadly माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC often appears more focused on awarding big-ticket contracts than practical, sustainable solutions. Bigger question is after completion, who will maintain and operate this STP ?? Given माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC माझी Mumbai, आपली BMCInfra poor maintenance track record, will this become yet another expensive white elephant funded by taxpayers ?? Mumbaikars deserve answers.
