NOW: Hundreds of state workers are rallying at the State Capitol against Gov. Gavin Newsom's new return-to-office mandate that takes effect today requiring most state employees to work in person four days per week instead of the previous minimum of two (for most state workers). They argue telework has proven effective and productive, adding the return-to-office mandate will increase traffic and add costs for everyday workers and taxpayers. On the other side, Newsom argues the return to office mandate will improve productivity and improve downtowns. SEIU Local 1000 says the demonstration also comes as its contract with the state has expired. No agreement has been reached for a new contract.

Hayden Panettiere Autopsy Finds No Signs of Trauma The Greenville County Coroner’s Office confirmed Monday that Hayden Panettiere’s autopsy has been completed. Officials stated that “no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death.” The cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation, with additional studies still underway. As the investigation continues, it’s best to keep speculation to a minimum. We now know there were no signs of trauma. In time, the official conclusion will come. For now, the focus should stay on Hayden’s life and the joy she brought to so many. If she was struggling, let it serve as a reminder to treat others with kindness — you never know what crucial help you’re providing.
