During training, you visit many of the facilities that will eventually play a role in your mission. Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Complex 39A was one of them. This visit felt different. Standing at the base of the tower and looking up, I was reminded that this is the very place from which Neil Armstrong and his crewmates began their journey to the Moon. The facility has evolved over the decades and has been modernized for a new era of spaceflight, but it still carries the weight of its history. You can feel it. Then there is the elevator. Inside, there are only two buttons: Earth and Space. A simple design choice, perhaps, but one that feels remarkably profound when launch day finally arrives. What you see here is me at the top of the launch pad, with the Falcon 9 yet to make its way out. The rocket is transported to the pad horizontally and then raised to a vertical position before launch. Standing there, it was impossible not to imagine the events that would soon unfold. My view of the ever-beautiful Tel Aviv sunset on Shabbat last week before the Iranian attacks. This sun will join the Lion on the flag of Iran and free the Middle East. I soaked in that energy straight from Hashem, the direct hit to the heart that gives Israelis the strength to fight against their genocidal enemies. The Iranian regime will not break Israel. It will be their downfall. When that happens, and the war is over, I recommend you all visit this paradise and soak in this energy for yourselves. What a country.

Check out this video that has the horse in the gate at 3/2 and 6/5 just a few steps later. That’s a drop of nearly 30 percent a few seconds into a race. Every loser felt like a loser. So did most winners. People who have accepted being victims or who actually come to the defense of CAWs by blaming others for not seeing the odds drops coming….. I’m just not with you. This stuff is exhausting, frustrating and very tough to deal with. Most important, it is unnecessary and doesn’t have to be this way. Imagine trying to dutch bets to equalize outcomes. I understand that I should use what I believe final off odds will be as opposed to the actual live tote board (not easy to do when acting directly against what your eyes are seeing). That’s an incredible leap of faith to plan on a 30 percent odds drop the moment the horses leave the gate (assuming that info could be gleaned from the will pays and other pools). This situation sucks. My best defense remains to bet fewer races, keep to tournaments more than regular cash play, and plan for the worst every time, but the better solution remains with the racetracks (who don’t seem to be in a hurry to upset their top customers).

China has become the second country in the world with an orbital-class launcher system with first-stage booster recovery through controlled reentry and propelled landing. After delivering its payload to low Earth orbit, The Long March 10B had its booster landing on a recovery ship in the South China Sea with a net-and-hook system. SpaceX has more than a decades lead on the Chinese, with Starship being at a completely different position in this space race but the Chinese are clearly going to be putting a lot of effort into trying to catch up. It’s remarkable that the Europeans have been so slow to start experimenting with these technologies. ESA and ArianeGroup have been slow off their feet and both the Themis and Callisto programs are still very far from pulling off what the Chinese did today and miles and miles away from being able to do what SpaceX does.

I will be installing a dash cam in every vehicle we own after seeing what happened to a good friend yesterday. He purchased a 997 Turbo Cab late last year. Beautiful car, pristine condition. He sent it to one of the best shops in town for a full mechanical refurbishment so he could enjoy it without any worry. 7 weeks later, the car was on its way to him for delivery, a short drive from the shop, when this happened on I-10. Absolutely heartbroken for him, and justification enough after seeing this video of why dashcams are a necessity in this day and age. So, Twitter, what Dashcam am I buying three of?
