The woman was taken away from her workplace and taken to the local police station to establish her identity. In recent months, police in #Dagestan have been inspecting the streets and detaining women wearing the Niqab. This is a direct consequence of the 2024 fatwa by the so called Muftiate of Dagestan, Akhmad Abdulaev, who banned the wearing of Niqabs.
