Hagerstown Aviation Museum- My Dad worked in this very building for Fairchild Aircraft on the A-10 project.

AF wanted it gone. The f22/35 did the same job. Those pilots said the same thing 5 miles up. You all look like crunchies. Army said you Dont want it. We will take it all. Planes maintenance pilots ALL OF IT. AF turned tail and kept it.

The brass wanted the shiny new toy. Didn’t matter to them that it couldn’t hold a candle to the A-10.

The A10 is one of my top 3 most loved jets. Right there with the SR71 and the F-22.
