Abbott declared the proposed wudu facilities illegal and said taxpayer funded airports cannot favor one religion. Abbott ordered a review of state grants and referred the airports to the U.S. Department of Transportation for investigation. Abbott made it clear: Texas will not allow religious discrimination at public facilities. Under pressure, DFW Airport has now completely scrapped the project.
