We spoke to more than 30 families—people who have lived here for years—yet what they endured feels like the darkest fears of our past coming alive today. What we saw was not law and order—it was the cruel execution of the very law we fought against five years ago: the divisive and discriminatory CAA. I’ve been listening to so many iconic calls of John Sterling today and one that is not getting talked about enough is Aaron Judge’s 62nd home run. John was beginning to slow down in 2022 and was not making every road trip but when Judge was closing in on the record John made sure he was there at every game. He loved the game. He loved the history of the #Yankees and we loved him. Of course the call was outstanding and only John’s voice should be the soundtrack to such an iconic moment.

SHAME! In the horrific gang rape case of a college student in Kasba, involving a TMCP leader and his associates, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee has crossed all limits of shamelessness. When asked about women’s safety, he dismissed it as a mere “political agenda.” On the RG Kar rape case, where citizens are demanding justice for Abhaya through the powerful Raat Jago protest, he mocked the movement and outrageously claimed that if such crimes happen inside a college, the police and government have no responsibility.
