Robert De Niro originally wanted to play Max Cherry in Jackie Brown, the role that eventually went to Robert Forster. However, Quentin Tarantino had written the role with Forster in mind and had already promised him the part. Tarantino explains… “I wrote Jackie Brown, and I decided at some point in writing the script that Robert Forster would be terrific as Max Cherry. So, while I’m still writing the script, I bump into Robert Forster - we go to the same coffee shop. ….so I decided I’m gonna give him the part, because I figure, look, this would be a big, big deal part. So if I don’t give him the part, then once I’m done with it and it gets out in the town, then it’s gonna be Gene Hackman and Paul Newman and people like that, and it would be pretty hard to say no to. But if I just give him the part right now, I’ve got the juice to get it through, and now I can’t take it back because I wouldn’t be a man of my word. So to lock myself into that decision, I give it to him before I finish writing it. And then now comes the time to do it. Robert De Niro reads it, and he wants to be in it, but he wants to play Max. And I go, “Well, look, you would be a fantastic Max, but I’ve already given that to Robert Forster, and I’m a man of my word. I can’t take it back.” Now, De Niro is very much a man of his word, so he understands that. He gets that. And he’s just like, “Yeah, yeah. That’s just disappointing. It’s just regretful.” I go, “What?” “Well, just because, you know, you were thinking about him, so you wrote it for him. But if we had had more dinners and hung out a little bit more, then you would have been thinking about me and you would have written it for me. And I understand what happened, but that could have been changed if we had spent more time with each other before this.” And so he kind of gives me the – “just think about it for a couple of days, all right? - and then let’s talk again. Maybe Bob (Robert Foster) could play Louis, the other guy.” So then I actually have Bob read Louis with me, and then read Max. And if that could work, maybe that could work. But no, everything that made him perfect for Max made him wrong for Louis. And so I get on the phone with De Niro — and I go, “Yeah, you know, I explored that. But no, everything about him that makes him perfect for Max makes him wrong to play this ex-convict guy.” And he goes, “Yeah, yeah, I get that. I get that, I get that, I get that. Okay, so tell me about this Louis character.” And I go, “You would consider playing Louis?” “Yeah, it’s a good character. It’s a good movie. I wanna be part of it. It’s a good character. I wanted the other character, but yeah, this is a good character. I’d be happy to play it.” I go, “Well, you didn’t let me know that before.” He goes, “Well, I didn’t wanna let you off the hook. I wanted you on the hook. But now if that ship has sailed, then let’s talk about Louis.” And then it was a done deal.”

Joe Rogan issues a HEARTFELT apology to Theo Von over his recent comments: “I apologized to Theo. He knows I love him and he said that and we laughed and we joked around about it and I apologized for the way I talked about this. But I felt like I needed to explain to other people too, to get what was going on in my mind out and it certainly wasn’t like covering for Israel and it wasn’t trying to paint him out like he’s damaged or treat him like a child.” “I just want him to be okay. And when you’re dealing with someone, or when you have had experience dealing with someone where it winds up going very badly, and then you’re just left with this feeling, like, what could I have done? You know, I didn’t do a good job of it, especially the Marcus King thing. That’s terrible what I did. I didn’t mean to.” “I was just trying to—you don’t think sometimes when you are in the middle of a podcast. You’re having a conversation, you don’t think about the impact that it’s gonna have. That’s one of the reasons why, you know, podcasts are so weird because like you’re in the middle of trying to be entertaining, but you’re also just having a conversation and I f*cked up because I felt so badly about it. It was like there’s got to be a way to address this where I just express myself and so that’s why we’ve never done this before.” “We’ve never done this kind of a thing after a podcast, but it was very important to me. He’s an awesome person, a great friend, and one of the most interesting and funny people I’ve ever met in my life. And I just felt terrible about it. And I told them I would never bring it up publicly again, but I think it is important to let people know that aspect of it.” “So I’m gonna call him and clear this with him and make sure he’s cool with me saying this, but I’m pretty sure he is gonna be. And that’s it… I’m a human and I’m flawed like all of us and I f*ck up and it’s probably not the last time. It’s definitely not. I’m going to f*ck up again. But my intention is never to hurt anybody, ever. And that’s why I mean I very rarely if ever even get upset at anyone other than like corrupt politicians. But I do my best to just try to be a good person, spread positivity.”

President Trump just delivered a glowing two-minute address to the Chinese delegation in Beijing. He praised President Xi Jinping as a “great leader” and vowed to have a fantastic future together. TRUMP: “That was an honor like few have ever seen before.” “And I think I was particularly impressed by those children. They were happy. They were beautiful.” “You and I have known each other now for a long time. In fact, the longest relationship of our two countries that any president and president has had, and that’s to me, an honor.” “We’ve had a fantastic relationship. We’ve gotten along. When there were difficulties, we worked it out.” “I would call you and you would call me. And whenever we had a problem, people don’t know, whenever we had a problem, we worked it out very quickly, and we’re going to have a fantastic future together.” “Such respect for China, the job you’ve done.” “You’re a great leader. I say it to everybody. You’re a great leader. Sometimes people don’t like me saying it, but I say it anyway because it’s true. I only say the truth.” “And I just want to say, on behalf of all of the great delegation that we have, we have the greatest businessmen, the biggest, and I guess the best in the world.” “We have amazing people and they’re all with me. Every single one of them. We asked the top 30 in the world. Every single one of them said yes. And I didn’t want the second or the third in the company. I wanted only the top.” “And they’re here today to pay respects to you and to China.” “And they look forward to trade and doing business. And it’s going to be totally reciprocal on our behalf.” “So I really look very much forward to our discussion. It’s a big discussion. There are those that say this is maybe the biggest summit ever.” “They can never remember anything like it. It’s I can say in the United States, it’s people aren’t talking about anything else.” “But it’s an honor to be with you, it’s an honor to be your friend.” “And the relationship between China and the USA is going to be better than ever before.” Trump is laying the groundwork for a major breakthrough with China.

Not only do I have nothing against Alex jones, I like him. And I only am posting this about Harrison because he constantly bad mouthes me on Twitter after blocking me. I would 100% have forgotten he exists if he didn’t do that. Sneaky Harrison smith flares up like herpes every time I go on any show. He plays the martyr and the victim and pretends I’m some monster who attacked him. Seven years ago I was hosting info wars and taking calls and a listener said he respected that I criticize Israel. That sent shockwaves that I wasn’t expecting. Alex and Harrison called me a toxic anti semite in a show they did and banned me from being back on for years. This was at a time I was banned from every single social media platform and making a living out of a P.O. Box. If I look a little stressed in this vid it’s because I went from having a very solid and hard earned career to complete public exile in a very short amount of time with a family to feed. I never cuck so I just had to soldier on. I was ultimately successful in my mission. Since then Harrison has flipped to being known primarily for his distain for Jews. My guess is, deep down he knows that he wronged me in a very hard time of my life. Since that makes him feel shame his narcissism turns it into a delusion that it’s actually me attacking him. I now actually think there’s a racial thing going on w some of these ashkanazi. Apparently they have a hard time sweating. Harrison H. Smith ✞ all I’ve ever done to you was point out your lies and hypocrisy whenever you slander me in public. I obviously hear from people that you lie about me to. Knock it off pussy. Your glasses are ridiculous btw, it’s like you’re a wanna be serial killer

🔥🚨NEW: Joaquin Buckley confirms he turned down a fight against Ian Garry after his win at #UFCStLouis and lists several reasons why. 😬🦠 “I definitely denied [a fight against Ian Garry]. I ain’t wanna catch no herpies, n*gga. I’m good. My man be having them little pop ups. I ain’t [trying to catch that] because I like to wrestle now.” “.. [I said no because] the time. The time wise. I just did two back to back fights. I was good. I was like, ‘Let me chill out for a minute.’” “But I got another offer that is a little bit more lengthy in time for me to prepare and get ready. But it’s also a better match up. It’s a bigger fight as well. And a bigger name, in my opinion, than Ian Garry.” “That fight [with Garry] doesn’t do anything for me. Ian Garry is the type of fighter unfortunately, like I mean now he’s hungry for it. He’s trying to get back out there. He’s trying to find these opponents. But he’s just not that dude in my opinion.” “When you talk about his style of fighting, he’s not fun to watch. He’s not exciting, and the way that he promotes his fights as well is kind of lame to me, and it’s kind of dried out.” “He doesn’t do anything for me when it comes to actually moving towards that title. But the person I’m finna fight next definitely will.” “.. At one point I did want to fight him, but I done already put in my footwork. .. Like you done had all this time to prepare, and I’m coming off of two camps back to back. Like nah, that’s not how that works.” #UFC #MMA

Donald Trump just talked about vaccines for three minutes straight. “They pump so much stuff into those beautiful little babies, it’s a DISGRACE.” He almost sounded like RFK Jr. Every word was said with force. Nothing will be the same after this: “I’ll say that they will maybe say at a little bit later date, but I think when you go for the shot, you do it over a five-time period— take it over five times or four times, but you take it in smaller doses and you spread it out over a period of years. And they pump so much stuff into those beautiful little babies. It’s a DISGRACE... I think it’s very bad. They’re pumping, it looks like they’re pumping into a horse. “You have a little child, a little fragile child, and you get a vat of 80 different vaccines. I guess 80 different blends, and they pump it in. So ideally, a woman won’t take Tylenol, and on the vaccines, it would be good [practice that] instead of one visit where they pump the baby, load it up with stuff, you’ll do it over a period of four times or five times. “I’ve been so into this issue for so many years just because I couldn’t understand how a thing like this could happen. “And you know, it [autism] is artificially induced. It’s not like something that when you go from all of those healthy babies to a point where I don’t even know structurally if a country can afford it, and that’s the least of the problems. “To have families destroyed over this is just so, so terrible. I also — and we’ve already done this — we want no mercury in the vaccine. We want no aluminum in the vaccine. The MMR, I think, should be taken separately. “This is based on what I feel. The mumps, measles and [rubella], the three, should be taken separately. And it seems to be that when you mix them there could be a problem. “So there’s no downside in taking them separately. In fact, they think it’s better. So let it be separate. The chickenpox is already separate because when that got mixed in [with other things], it really was bad. ... “So there’s no downside in doing it [spacing vaccines]. It’s not like, oh, if you do it — bad things. No, it’s only good. And it may not have that much of an impact, but it may have a big impact. So let those be taken separately. “And then hepatitis B is sexually transmitted. There’s no reason to give a baby that’s almost just born hepatitis B. “So I would say wait till the baby is 12 years old and formed, and take hepatitis B. And I think if you do those things, it’s going to be a whole different. It’s going to be a revolution in a positive sense in the country.” This is A LOT to take in from a single statement. Trump just tore into the entire vaccine schedule in a 3-minute blitz. This changes everything.

David Lean on how to direct actors & shares a funny story that happened during the filming of 'The Bridge on the River Kwai' (1957) "Interviewer: Could you talk about how you work with your actors? Lean: Dangerous subject. Well, it’s intensely personal. I always try not to speak in a loud voice when I’m talking to an actor on the set. I gently take them aside, and I whisper because I don’t want to give the impression, for their sake, that they are being told to do this or that by a teacher. I try as hard as I can to make them suggest something that I want them to think of. The trouble with actors is that it’s a very di cult job with this damned glass eye looking at them all the time. It’s quite di cult talking to all of you here, but I’d rather talk to all of you than I would have a hundred-millimeter lens pointing at me. It’s so concentrated. It’s part of a director’s job, I think, to get the actor to give as good a performance on the stage as he gave to himself in the bath in the morning. So I try to relieve them of their inhibitions. It doesn’t help if you talk from a great height, from a megaphone, as it were. I try to get their confidence. I try to give them confidence. I can’t bear some actors, the rambunctious types who think they know everything. You’ve got to knock them down and make them realize they don’t know everything. If you’ve really done your homework on the script, you, the director, know the part better than any damned actor because you’ve been at it for months. I’ve had lots of actors who want to change dialogue. I see them doing it. I won’t have it. They took on the script and they’ll stick to it. I’m terribly tempted to tell you a rather long story about Sessue Hayakawa. You know, I nd constantly that actors really are not interested in anything but their own parts. We had a scene in 'The Bridge on the River Kwai' (1957) where they had all the troops lined up, and Sessue gets up on the soapbox and talks. We went through a rehearsal, and I said, “What’s wrong?” Because it was the speech and yet it wasn’t the speech. What Sessue had done was to learn all the lines that were only his. He had cut out all the lines that were anybody else’s. The main script was about that thick, and his script was only that thick. He marked only the pages in which he spoke. He had thrown out the rest and bound it together. Now, we came to the scene at the end of the picture. Alec Guinness is looking over the edge of the bridge and he thinks he sees some wires. He goes up to Hayakawa and says, “Colonel Saito, there’s something rather peculiar going on. I think we better go and have a look.” Guinness walked o the bridge, which leads down to the rocks, and Sessue stayed there like a rock. I said, “Go on, Sessue, follow him.” He said, “I follow him?” I said, “Sessue, this is where you nd the wires and where you get killed.” He said, “I get killed?” He had thrown the page away because he had no dialogue. I’ll tell you another story about an actor, though I won’t tell you who it was. He was damn good, but I was kind of dissatisfied. I said, “Look, I understand that an actor is projecting ninety percent to the person he’s playing with, and ten percent is going out toward the camera. I’ve only just realized that you’re putting ninety percent out to the camera, and ten to whom you’re playing with.” It changed his performance immediately." (David Lean's interview to AFI, 1984)

Kuch kahaniyan sirf banayi nahi jaati, unke liye apni poori zindagi laga deni padti hai. ❤️🙏 #HanumanAnsh ke director Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi #विष ki kahani bhi kuch aisi hi hai. Neem Karoli Baba ke prati unki aastha aaj ki nahi, saalon purani hai. Baba ke woh sirf bhakt nahi hain, unhone apni zindagi ka ek bada hissa Baba ko samarpit kar diya hai. 2009 mein unhone Baba ke jeevan par research shuru ki. Books padhi, Vrindavan, Akbarpur, Lucknow aur Neem Karoli ki journeys ki, logon se mile, unki yaadein aur experiences sune aur saal-dar-saal is kahani ko samajhte chale gaye. 2017 tak story ne ek shape lena shuru kiya aur 2023 mein unhone apni research ka scope aur bhi bada kar diya. 17 years of research was not just about making a film… it was his journey of faith and devotion towards Baba. Vishal khud Neem Karoli Baba ke devotional songs gaate rahe hain. Unke liye Baba sirf ek film ka subject nahi hain.. Baba is a part of his faith, his belief & his life. Jab script ready hui, toh unhone ise OTT platforms tak le jaane ki koshish ki. But the answer was a BIG NO. OTT santon ki stories mein invest karne ke liye interested nahi tha. Lekin Vishal ne haar nahi maani. Financial problems aayi. Kai saal investors ki talaash mein nikal gaye. Film mein koi big star nahi tha, isliye koi easily paisa lagane ko ready nahi tha. But his faith never broke. Aakhirkaar kuch log mile, jinhone unki story, unke vision aur unke passion par trust kiya. Casting mein sirf acting nahi dekhi gayi. Artist ka behaviour dekha gaya, lifestyle dekha gaya aur sabse important kya woh is character ki dignity ko carry kar sakta hai? Poora set vegetarian rakha gaya. Roz Aarti hoti thi aur Hanuman Chalisa ka paath kiya jaata tha. And then came a twist that nobody had planned. Jis actor ko Baba ke main role ke liye select kiya gaya tha, woh beemar pad gaye. Tab film ke 2nd Assistant Director @seabatabhinava jo set par props aur doosri responsibilities handle kar rahe the, ko main role de diya gaya. Kabhi-kabhi lagta hai… casting insaan nahi, uparwala karta hai. Maybe Baba chose #Shobhinaw himself. Sabse beautiful baat yeh hai ki Vishal ne Baba ko sirf ek miraculous saint ke roop mein dikhane ki koshish nahi ki. He wanted to bring out Baba's compassion, humanity, seva, leelas and the transformation he brought into people's lives. Aur shayad isi wajah se #HanumanAnsh dheere dheere logon ke dil tak pahunch rahi hai. Ek waqt tha jab film ke paas sirf 25–30 shows reh gaye the. Today, the same film is running with 3500+ SHOWS AND COUNTING.💥 Socho… 25–30 shows se 3500+ shows tak. This is not an ordinary turnaround. Sach kahun toh #HanumanAnsh ki poori journey dekhkar ek baat baar-baar mind mein aati hai- Shayad Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi #विष ne Baba ki story banane ki koshish nahi ki… SHAYAD BABA NE VISHAL KO YEH STORY SUNANE KE LIYE KHUD CHOOSE KIYA THA.❤️🙏 Aur abhi yeh journey khatam nahi hui hai. HanumanAnsh ko Trilogy ke roop mein aage le jaane ki planning h. Matlab is kahani ke 2 chapters abhi or baaki hain. Indian Cinema mein Sanatan parampara ke saints aur spiritual personalities ki stories par bahut kam focus kiya gya h. Hopefully, #HanumanAnsh ki yeh journey un filmmakers ko bhi courage degi jo saalon se aisi kahaniyan apne dil mein lekar baithe hain. When faith meets hard work, miracles can happen. #HanumanAnsh ke saath toh sach mein kuch extraordinary hota hua nazar aa raha hai. Ek waqt 25–30 shows…pehle din bas 10 lakh ki kamai..Aur aaj 3500+ shows aur 10 CR in single day krne wala hai. AISA LAGTA HAI JAISE BABA KA KHUD KA HAATH IS FIL PAR HAI. #HanumanAnsh ab sirf ek film nhi lag rahi..It feels like a Divine Journey. Thanks to Cinépolis India 4 distributing this and congratulations to Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi #विष and whole team.

Senior Actress Myolie Wu (cheng jinzhi in #Overdo) praised #zhanglinghe during her recent interview 😉🔥🎬 "Yeah, working with Zhang Linghe was a great experience. he really is handsome, honestly😆 I rarely speak so directly like this, but since I’ve actually seen him in person, and see him quite often, I just think, "Wow, he’s really handsome and tall." "And it’s not just about his looks. I’m also impressed by his professional attitude. He has the professionalism an actor should have. That particular role (Murong Qingyi) involved a lot of dialogues and scenes requiring significant emotional range, yet he handled it beautifully. What’s really praiseworthy is that, even though you might initially think, ‘Wow, is he a newcomer? Will he be able to handle it? Will he be dedicated enough? Will he forget his lines or something?’ I feel like he completely didn’t have those problems. I don’t think of him as a newcomer at all. I think he is incredibly professional. Whenever we acted opposite each other, he always had his lines completely memorized. I remember telling him near the end of the shoot, ‘Wow, you really should keep acting. I think you have a lot of potential as an actor, and a bright future ahead’. It’s no wonder so many women I know have fallen for him, they absolutely adore him and I totally get why." she also said her friends are asking her to help his autographed photo and whether they could visit him on set and she was like: they don't even talk about visiting me but him😅

Hey, @TheOldMerIsDead, does this look like the conversation of two people who are "cheating"? No. It shows exactly what it is: a normal conversation between friends. You'll undoubtedly ask what he was lying to me about, so let me clear that up, as well as why I felt used: I felt like I was just a sounding board all year after he said “I want to be very clear, Meredith O’Neil has done nothing wrong" during one of his presentations. He was always asking me for advice, constantly telling me I give great advice and I was ticked that I spent my time seemingly helping him resolve issues, only for him to go against the advice he agreed with whilst I watched things blow up in his face. It was annoying. Anyway, the reason Aidan Kearney told you I was "just a fan" back in May when you saw my name come up on his phone (no message, just my name), was because he KNEW how you would act if he told you I was “just a friend." You wouldn't have believed him. You apparently didn’t believe I was just a fan either because within a days/few days(?) you sent me a friend request on Facebook so you could creep my profile. I, personally, cannot say this, but I believe plenty of other people have said that you'd get visibly upset when fans would approach Aidan in public so GOD FORBID he have a trusted female friend to talk to while he’s going through heavy shit and his girlfriend is complaining about how she’s not a priority the week of his mother‘s funeral. I've been here, doll, and I’ve given him great advice all year long. I hate to say this, but you’re the kind of woman whose boyfriend HAS to hide females who are just friends because of your wildly insecure nature. You went as far hacking into your last boyfriend’s email to decline a job offer so he couldn’t move away from you. Something is not right with you. ..but to go even further and later send a compromising video of him to his boss so his employment would be revoked? That is very likely clinically diagnosable. You really pulled alllllll this bullshit just because your boyfriend had a female friend who sent him a text message in May and you saw ONE inappropriate message from me in June—while you two were broken up. You need help. Actual help. Log off and get some rest, doll.

What I saw at Alberta's anti-AI protest A $13 billion investment from Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, will see a new data centre built near Edmonton. But not all Albertans are on board with the development, and Rebel News heard from protesters opposed to the project. I went to a protest against an Alberta data centre the other day. It was a Sunday, in a small town, and 200 people showed up. That’s a lot. And unlike most protests I go to, where the protesters have no clue what they’re protesting about, everyone here had a lot to say. Even stranger, they didn’t try to block Rebel News. And the strangest thing was, one of the protesters was a die-hard Rebel News fan. So, are these protesters right? Are data centres something we should fear? The demand for computer processing is so huge these days — think of streaming a Netflix show or making a Zoom call — that the computing power doesn’t come from your laptop or your phone anymore. It comes from buildings stuffed with computers, called data centres. And as artificial intelligence becomes more commonplace, the need for data centres is going to grow. There’s a bit of a race between China and America on AI, and that’s fuelling some of the fevered growth, too. And to me, that’s an important point, and one that I put to a number of the anti-AI protesters: AI isn’t going away. The question is, do you want AI controlled by Communist China, or do you want it controlled by America? Which is more likely to respect privacy and freedom? That was the real fear of the people I spoke with. Their objections to the big $13 billion data centre being built in northern Alberta wasn’t really about its proposed water use (it will use less than a golf course) or it’s power use (it’s actually building its own $4 billion power plant). It’s about AI itself. AI is something to worry about, and to make sure that it’s done right. No doubt it will change many things in our lives. But protesting a computer factory in Alberta isn’t going to change the answers to that — all it might do is push some construction jobs down to Texas, or China itself. Watch the full video I did with Sheila Gunn Reid in Morinville, Alberta. I did my best to let the protesters have their say. I wasn’t surprised that there were climate activists there, but I thought it was weird that the Revolutionary Communist Party was out in such force. I should tell you, I just finished doing a lengthy interview with Nate Glubish, the Alberta cabinet minister in charge of data centres. I actually went up to the construction site of the big new data centre to interview him on location. I’ll have that video for you later this week. What do you think? Is opposition to this data centre just a front for opposing AI itself? And if so, isn’t AI just like the Space Race — it’s a race between us and China, whether or not we like it?
