Do you guys remember this guy from last year who stole the.girllens.’s borrowed camera? He was ordered on the InDrive app to deliver a camera to someone, but he ran away with it instead. After seeing posts online of people searching for him, he kept moving from place to place to avoid being caught. He was eventually caught on February 12 this year, but by then he had already sold everything in the bag for 200k and couldn’t trace the buyers, claiming they were Ikeja boys by the roadside. The bag contained a camera and lens worth over 2m, which he sold for just 200k. The case went to court, and he was found guilty, with sentencing fixed for April 9th. However, Seun(the owner of the stolen camera) later asked her to let him go, and despite her pain, she agreed since he was the owner of the camera stollen. Many of the victims of Jeffrey Epstein were abused as teenagers. And this information should have come out a long time ago! The American people deserve full transparency into who was involved in these horrific acts. I believe the victims. They along with their attorneys have told me numerous times that President Trump is NOT implicated in this. I stand with these women and all victims of sexual abuse. It is a shame our government is working harder to protect pedophiles than they are fighting for the victims! These women deserve our fight!!

From International Space Station, we have a unique vantage point to observe lightning storms from directly above them. Much like from the ground, they appear as rapid, intense flashes that are over as quickly as they started. But, with the help of handheld cameras and a bit of practice (and, admittedly, some luck), we can capture these intense flashes with a very high frame rate then slow them down to see how the lightning propagates. It's lightning, in slow motion. This is one that occurred over Indonesia on 6/28. I shot it for a half second at 1/120 frame rate, so, 60 separate frames. I then compiled those frames into two videos: the first, in real-time, and the second, slowed down so that each frame is a half second to highlight the progression of the flash. Note the incredible burst of light in one frame, which includes what is likely a TLE on the upper left. A TLE, or Transient Luminous Event, is an electrical discharge that happens in the upper atmosphere above lightning storms (if you haven’t seen Ferry Farhan TLE photo from last week, head over to her page). As their name implies, these are transient, or short lived, phenomena – it appeared in only one frame of the sequence, lasting for no more than 1/120th of a second. The last photo is that single frame. Absolutely incredible.

They make money hand over fist, and we get skyrocketing utility bills, polluted drinking water, and dried up natural resources. These men went out there on the world stage in a foreign land and got booed, The Star Spangled Banner in the midst of being sung for their competition got booed, but they stood on business and they triumph against the people that were booing them. They whooped ass, showed the world what’s up. In a divided country, these heroes deserve a medal, presidential recognition, something big. They should make everyone proud to be an American.

While women in the west have gained their freedom to the extent that they are now calling to free the nipple, women in many parts of the Islamic world just want to free their face and free their hair. Things are shifting though. Women are not only removing their hijabs in public, they're also dancing in public, singing in public, riding their bikes in public, jogging in public. All these simple activities are either against the law in some countries or come at a very high social cost. #NoHijabDay is about changing that. It’s about empowering women to resist these dehumanizing laws, and speak out against gender apartheid. Let’s give them our support. Something that really came alive for me on the expedition with Pillars of the Past was the way Peruvian cultures like the Inca and Wari would channel and utilize water in their ancient cities. I had seen pieces of ancient aqueducts before but this was the first time I saw these systems still functioning. I believe these cities were fully equipped with water features throughout, providing drinking water, showers, baths, etc. Here we explore aqueducts and pieces of aqueduct construction from the Inca sites of Intihuatana and Vilcashuamán, and the Wari capital of Viñaque. Admittedly there's not much left to go on, but I do believe we are dealing with a people and culture who had fully mastered the flow of water, and these fragments provide a glimpse.
