ABS Challenges including the Touching Rule is incredible
14 Yorum

Ball, Ball, Ball. Those are all balls. The edge of the strike zone is still a ball 80% outside the strike zone is a ball.

It’s 2026 and they can’t even get the ABS to create a 3D model of the strike zone. Just 2D

feels like they could just make it so the ball needs to be 50% in the zone to be ruled a strike......or 30%. these fingernail width touches are horseshit. like when they slow down a stolen base play and find the base stealer came off the bag by a fraction of an inch.

Because the touching the 2D square at the mid point of the plate, it makes perfect sense. The ball has to be well within the 3D zone along the path to still make contact with the 2D square at that specific point.

Meanwhile a fat breaking ball to Stanton is ruled ".1 inch off the zone" I guess the ABS enhances big market team privileges instead of evening out the playing field

Hitters are now going to have to completely change their approach. Their plate discipline now must cover 99.9% of a ball off the plate now, because a ball just clipping the zone is a K. Hitting somehow just became even harder. They now have to swing at balls 99% off the plate

Almost got rid of the umps

Don’t even need a home plate umpire anymore.

time to get rid of the umps

How accurate is this system?

They’ve been watching too many HitTrax videos with Trevor Bauer 😂

The unpire should be able to do a no call and have his own way to ask abs

@grok what if your challenge is wrong

"If any part of the ball passes through any part of the 3D strike zone over home plate." Definition of a strike according to the rule book. Strikes should probably be called more often than they are.
