That first season of the Witcher was pure bliss for me ...thanks to Cavill. It was after the disastrous finale of Game of Thrones so I really needed a good series to get into and this was perfect. He was awesome... then it went off the rails really quick. Everything he does is magnificent, even when he played a bad guy vs Tom Cruise!
Totally agree with you on these points. The problem with The Witcher series is that the writers deviated too much from the books, which didn't please Henry Cavill and forced his departure. I don't even want to watch the sequel with the new actor, it lost all its interest for me. He was excellent in Mission Impossible as a CIA agent honestly, the role suited him perfectly!
