Man, I wish we had those back in the day. Whoever invented that deserves to be rich.

I love the idea… But it is my opinion I would not want to trust it year in and year out as though the friction would never wear out. What if we placed our trust in the device only to find out after a couple of years of use, it wore down enough to slip?

I see roofers without harnesses all the time. Can't remember ever seeing one with a harness.

When I was a kid I roofed houses summers and on weekends. We just had a piece of flat rubber tied around our right upper leg. Sure you’d slide off a roof occasionally; just part of the job.

Seems great, but how can they guarantee that it’ll keep sticking to the roof while using it

Absolute dumbest invention. Steps need to be anchored somehow. Probably anyone who relies on these deserves the fall.

@BlackPillPirate I made that 20 years ago out of plywood and a tacky door mat. It made a big difference on the roof we used to have. I’d buy this one if it isn’t crazy expensive. Looks light. Mine wasn’t.

A lot of people on here commenting on how that shouldn’t be trusted. They obviously have never roofed.

a pitch hopper? that's been out for years. It's just a commercial innovation on the Mexicans throwing down couch cushions on the roof to walk. Which they've been doing for many years. You can get the same effect buying basic foam for about 20x cheaper.

@samtripoli Just bought one a month ago for a job. I asked for two until they gave me the bill. I said I’ll take one. Worked great, about 130$

In Europe we only use shingles and felt on shed or outhouse roofs. All the houses have slate/tile/fibreglass (flat roofs) or metal. My house was built in the 1930’s and still has the original tiles. Are there parts the US that has slate or tile roofs?
