There's truth to how elites smear inconvenient questions. But the danger in conspiracy theories is the mass psychosis and breakdown of reason and logic that it can create. Healthy skepticism keeps power in check, but when it spirals into unfalsifiable narratives that reject evidence entirely, we lose shared reality and the ability to solve real problems.
