Absolutely based. Here’s how Korean store owners defended their livelihoods in Los Angeles during the 1992 riots.

Korean Americans are amazing people. I know many in Los Angeles who were impacted by these riots and one dude whose parents lost their business and had to sell their home, downsizing to a small apartment.

They understood what it meant to protect your property by any means necessary - no one is coming to save you

The police gave up, blocked all the roads and just surrounded the place and let the thugs go wild inside. These So. Koreans, most were vets, did what had to be done. Went up on the roofs with rifles and defended what was theirs.

That’s what happens when you try that in a small Korean town

I'm very familiar with K-Town in LA. If I were a robber/shoplifter, methinks I'd look for another part of LA like WeHo, Beverly Hills, SaMo, etc. than K-Town.

If you're a business owner, that business is your livelihood. If someone steals from your store, they are putting your livelihood at risk. If you're livelihood is put at risk, your life is put at risk. Act accordingly.
