Sashimono is a Traditional craft of wooden furniture. Sashimono was named after putting two wooden pieces together without using nails. It seems delicate, but we are using special techniques called “HOZO” which is using the hidden notch and groove to lock the two wooden pieces. Sashimono classified into two, “KYO-SASHIMONO” and “EDO-SASHIMONO” KYO-SASHIMONO developed with Imperial court culture and Tea Ceremony, it is elegant and gorgeous. In contrast, EDO-SASHIMONO is simple and stylish in nature. it was used regularly by Samurai, Trader and Kabuki actor etc… Sashimono has special feature which is using a few metal parts as possible and special technique called “Hukiurushi-shiage” which is coating and wiping with Japanese lacquer more than 10 times. Another point of Edo-Sashimono is one product made by one craftsman for whole process. Today, Edo-sashimono is designated as Traditional Crafts of Japan and protected by law. There are strict conditions for designation. Mogami-Kogei has been following these standards that is made by domestic woods and all the special techniques stipulated by law. Edo-sashimono has been carrying the old tradition, and not relayed on imported woods and strictly using Japanese woods, following the traditional style, this may be rare nowadays. Sashimono is established more than a thousand years ago. Various techniques were developed since Buddhism was introduced to Japan. Between 10th-12th Century, “Hako-tsukurii” became popular among the Imperial court, nobles and monks. This was considered to be the origin of Sashimono. There is an ancient document that mentioned the Sashimono craftsman in Muromachi period(12th century). Hako-tsukuri furniture for Imperial family, nobles and monks. An old painting carrying a box of Hako-tsukuri. From Azuchi-Momoyama Period through the beginning of Edo-Period (over 150 years), Sashimono production increased drastically. Behind this trend, culture of Imperial court and Sen no Rikyu who perfected the art of tea ceremony influenced public culture. As a result, growing demand for Sashimono and improvement of techniques made the foundation of woodwork. In Edo Period, large number of craftsmen from all over the country moved to Edo by the government’s order, they made their own community around Kanda and Nihombashi area. Ever since, carpentry work was divided into each specialize field with the growth of the industry. There is a book called Jinrin-kinmouzui that mentioned about Sashimono craftsman. Since then, Edo (present day Tokyo) became the economic center in Japan, and the creation of new culture began. In Genroku Period (1688-1703), the new culture called Edomae and Edo-fu matured, in contrast with Kansai-fu or Kyo-fu which is gorgeous and luxurious, Edomae and Edo-fu pursued high quality materials and sophisticated products, its aesthetic spirit we called “Iki” that influenced once life. Edomae, Edo-fu : Edo style Kansai-fu : Kansai region style Kyo-fu : Kyoto style Iki : moden, cool, stylish. Edomae grew gradually, Sashimono industry too was making Sashimono not only for the Samurai and Traders but also began making for Rien Sashimono . All the traditional techniques have been carrying even to these days. 🎥© simple.history_ (IG) #archaeohistories

#C4News report on Shabana Mahmood culture war against West Midlands police ___ Shabana Mahmood and Keir Starmer's Maccabi culture war explained: It’s correct that some information relied on by West Midlands Police was flawed, including an AI-generated error referencing incidents that did not exist. That was a mistake and has rightly been criticised However, that does not mean the Birmingham fan ban was based solely on false or AI-generated material. There was still independent, genuine evidence underpinning the decision, including documented racist and abusive behaviour by Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters at previous matches For example, in November 2024, Maccabi supporters were involved in disorder and anti-Muslim/anti-Arab chanting in Amsterdam during and after a Europa League match against Ajax, which included attacks on Muslim fans and confrontations with local residents Separately, UEFA imposed a €20,000 fine and a one-match away fan ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv following racist chanting by their supporters at an away Europa League match against VfB Stuttgart in December 2025 These sanctions were imposed by football authorities based on verified conduct, not AI outputs. Police risk assessments also consider patterns of behaviour, crowd dynamics, and the likelihood of disorder - not just a single data point So while the use of incorrect AI-derived information undermined confidence in the decision-making process and should not be repeated, there remained sufficient legitimate, non-AI evidence — particularly prior racist and anti-Muslim abuse, UEFA disciplinary action, and historical patterns of disorder — to justify concerns about public order and to support maintaining the fan ban in Birmingham And why is this a Mahmood and Starmer culture war? The political reaction has focused disproportionately on the AI element. Leaders such as Keir Starmer and Shabana Mahmood highlighted the AI-generated errors as a reason to attack the police and dismiss the ban, while largely ignoring the substantial verified evidence of racist and anti-Muslim behaviour that underpinned the decision This selective focus reflects a wider culture war narrative, where the optics of “AI gone wrong” are leveraged to score political points, rather than assessing the full context of public safety and verified misconduct - the very factors that made the ban necessary in the first place Shame on Labour

The Clippers used to have a tradition during practice where players who airballed had to run a lap. This rule was established by Brian Shaw and applied to every player, regardless of their status. However, recently, Kawhi Leonard broke this rule and now, according to Paul George, no one has to run when they airball. In a recent episode of the Podcast P with Paul George, George and Terance Mann discussed this situation and found it hilarious. As a fan, I found this DISTURBING and it perfectly sums up the current state of the team. As a dedicated Clippers fan, I have noticed a lack of effort and passion on the court year after year. When I heard about this incident, it all clicked for me. This team will NEVER win a championship because they are led by someone who doesn't prioritize a winning culture. It's clear that Kawhi cannot lead us to a championship, and neither can PG. By disrespecting the coaches and refusing to run, Kawhi has set a precedent for the rest of the team to also disrespect their coaches. This behavior is reflected in their lackluster performance on the court, with the worst body language in the league and severe lack of fire and passion. Championship teams have strong practice habits and are led by players who not only push themselves, but also push their teammates to be better. In contrast, Popovich was known for being toughest on Tim Duncan, which motivated the rest of the team to also push themselves. Michael Jordan would press his teammates in practice, cussing them out, being physical with them, and create a harsh environment. Knowing that if they could survive him during practice then it would make the games easier. Kobe Bryant once took away his teammates’ Kobe brand shoes because he believed they didn't deserve to wear them after playing poorly. He would workout with his teammates so hard they often would black out. Unfortunately, Kawhi has created a culture of complacency and lack of accountability in the Clippers' locker room, which has translated onto the court. If the Clippers want to be a winning team, they need to establish good habits in practice and have players/coaches who push themselves and their teammates to be the best they can be. It's time for a change in the Clippers' culture if they want to have a chance at the championship. When we likely flame out early in the playoffs Steve Ballmer please clean house, us fans are tired of paying our hard earned money to watch guys play 50% and get blown out by mediocre teams. Then make podcasts laughing about goofing off in practice.

(1)🚨BREAKING: After a seven-year, high-profile legal battle on multiple fronts, Rev. Dr Bernard Randall, supported by the Christian Legal Centre, has secured a legal settlement with Trent College and succeeded in overturning the Church of England’s (CofE) safeguarding blacklisting of him for preaching a sermon on freedom of belief and gender identity. Dr Randall, a former Cambridge University college chaplain, is now free to preach in church again and work in an education setting for the first time in seven years after he and his legal team successfully challenged the ban imposed on him. Had he preached in a CofE place of worship during the past seven years, he could have faced disciplinary action. The sanction followed a sermon he delivered as chaplain of the Derbyshire college in July 2019 in a CofE school, in a CofE chapel, precisely the kind of setting where pupils might reasonably expect to hear orthodox Christian teaching. The sermon encouraged debate and was pastoral and rooted in Anglican belief. It came after the school had invited in the external campaign group Educate and Celebrate, which openly stated its aim to “smash heteronormativity” and to embed Queer Theory throughout the culture of the school. Yet for delivering that sermon, Dr Randall, was treated like a criminal: forced out of the college, reported to Prevent without his knowledge, and blacklisted by the Diocese of Derby as a safeguarding risk. Meanwhile, in the years since, Educate and Celebrate has been quietly closed down by the Charity Commission following a series of scandals, including one of its patrons committing multiple sex offences against children. Max Fleischer's trippy version of "Snow White" from 1933 remains a fascinating and bizarre piece of animation history. In this short Betty Boop cartoon, Fleischer and his team condensed and twisted the classic Snow White tale, taking viewers on a surreal journey that defies expectations. One of the standout moments in the cartoon is the inclusion of Cab Calloway, a renowned jazz singer of the time. In the middle of the animated film, Calloway appears and performs the hauntingly beautiful "St. James Infirmary Blues." The scene is a rare live-action segment, originally from another cartoon of the era titled "Minnie the Moocher," which was another iconic song associated with Calloway. Interestingly, the footage and music used in the beginning of "Minnie the Moocher" are clearly the same recording as the song "St. James Infirmary Blues" featured in the Betty Boop cartoon. In a clever editing move, the two pieces of audio are seamlessly joined together, creating a seamless transition between the two cartoons. Calloway's appearance in the cartoon is truly mesmerizing. He begins by singing the tune as Koko the Clown, a character created by Fleischer, and then undergoes a transformation into a ghostly figure. The animation beautifully captures Calloway's distinctive enunciation and signature dance moves, accompanied by a barrage of wild and imaginative visuals. In addition to the captivating animation, the cartoon also incorporates scenes from the 1980 film "The Blues Brothers," in which Cab Calloway once again performs "Minnie the Moocher." This inclusion adds an extra layer of intertextuality, as viewers are introduced to Calloway through this iconic performance. "Betty Boop in Snow White" is a testament to Max Fleischer's creativity and willingness to push the boundaries of animation. The cartoon showcases his unique vision and knack for blending different artistic mediums, resulting in a truly trippy and memorable viewing experience. Directed by Dave Fleischer and animated by Roland C. Crandall, the cartoon exemplifies the Fleischer Studio's distinctive style, characterized by fluid animation, vibrant colors, and a surreal atmosphere. Their innovative techniques and bold storytelling continue to inspire animators and artists to this day. Despite being a departure from the traditional Snow White narrative, Max Fleischer's version remains a remarkable piece of animation history. It stands as a testament to the power of imagination and creativity in bringing beloved stories to life in new and unexpected ways.

#GodzillaMinusOne is the greatest visualization of Godzilla as the King of Monsters, who reigns supreme over puny humans! This movie is so great, I had to rewatch it again. 🔥 This Godzilla is reminiscent of the first move (1954) but MUCH BETTER in look. 👀 - Directed by Takashi Yamazaki and produced by Toho Studios, the great studio that started it all. This wonderful absolutely brilliant in visual animation, character plot and sad drama to fill your emotional support spirit movie, is damn good. (IMO) - Fan of many of #Godzilla movies through the years and this one really got me hooked on the esthetics/captivating visual elements of the early post-war Japan (1940s) drama, but not only that griefs and destruction wasn’t enough from war, the universe said here! have another one, ENTER GODZILLA! 😆😳🔥 - Literally coming out nowhere to serve disaster level 9000+ on the survivors of Japan. - Storytelling is great, pulls you left and right but with a smooth flow, (not confusing), led by Koichi (Ryunosuke Kamiki- great acting), whose fled a suicide mission, outcast then turned hero against Godzilla. - Supporting casts really worked their magic on screen for the drama they had to deal with for great movie entertainment value and the visually pleasing action scenes got satisfying aftertaste of enjoyment! The way Godzilla stares on screen is scary! Lol 😆 A name that will be known for many generations to come, Godzilla minus one is a movie any true fan need to see, as this is top class value. That fine wine 70s yr old special bottle to enjoy 😂. 🔥🧋

Bathurst and Sheppard: Toronto neighbourhood remains a weekly battleground The Toronto intersection of Bathurst and Sheppard has become a notorious flashpoint across Canada, ground zero for the clash between Team Terrorist and Team Normal Canadian. For nearly two years, residents of this heavily Jewish neighbourhood have been forced to turn out week after week, long after the original rallies in support of Israeli hostages ended. What began as gatherings of hope, solidarity, and shared culture has become an exhausting duty: defending their own streets from those who turned a peaceful area full of synagogues, Jewish retirement homes, and schools into a weekly theatre of hate. Since October 2024, supporters of Hamas and the Islamic Republic occupying Iran have repeatedly descended on the community to wave flags of murderous ideologies and chant for the destruction of the only Jewish state. They show no signs of stopping. That is why locals continue to show up. When they don’t, the pro-Hamas crowd breaks away to harass residents and march through the neighbourhood looking for targets. At least when confronted across the street, the agitators tend to stay contained. The hopeful Sunday gatherings of old have been replaced by the unpleasant company of figures like David Schultz and Daniela Bonamico. Schultz enjoys cosplaying as a Palestinian terrorist, desecrating Israeli flags, and racking up arrests for “weapons dangerous,” “disguise with intent,” and “common nuisance.” He is allegedly, according to Leviathan, a member of the Toronto District School Board. Bonamico gained notoriety for joining a so-called “freedom flotilla” bound for Gaza. The vessel was intercepted by Israel, an action that almost certainly prevented the activists from entering a war zone controlled by terrorists. Rather than show gratitude for likely saving her life, Bonamico accused Israel of violence against her, claiming a sprained ankle, fractured tailbone, and broken rib despite displaying no visible injuries upon her return. She has posted videos widely interpreted as threats against Zionists, declaring, “Now in life is where I’m like I’m going to jail for sure,” called for a “reckoning,” and stated it’s “time for good men to start doing terrible terrible things.” In one clip she makes a gun motion with her hand while saying “pew pew” after mentioning my name. This is the weekly spectacle Bathurst and Sheppard residents must endure, kept at a distance by taxpayer-funded Toronto police and barricades. Many residents express deep frustration with the lack of action from all levels of government. Yet they remain determined. “We will not be intimidated in our own neighbourhood,” is the consistent message. Bathurst and Sheppard stands as a sad indictment of Canada’s failure to confront rising antisemitism, and as a powerful example of Jewish resistance in the face of it. REPORT by Scarlett Grace:

From the perspective of Western musicologists and philosophers who hold a particular admiration for Daniel Barenboim’s recording of this work: The most beautiful, most meaningful, and most spiritually awakening detail is: the revelation of Absolute Order and Sacred Purity through the left-hand Alberti Bass arpeggiation. The Most Significant Detail: The Alberti Bass and Perfect Structural Balance From the very first notes of the first movement (Allegro), as the principal melody emerges in the right hand, Barenboim’s left hand begins a continuous and perfectly even sequence of broken chords in the pattern: Low – High – Middle – High (C – G – E – G). In Mozart studies, this is known as the Alberti Bass. Yet, through the lens of traditionalist conservatives who safeguard Western cultural heritage, this detail carries profound spiritual and philosophical significance. Why Traditionalists Who Uphold Divinely Ordained Culture Love This Detail the Most There are three core reasons why this structural element touches the highest peak of aesthetic and spiritual appreciation for them: 1. It Reflects the “Divine Order of the Universe” and God’s Providence Traditional classical Western thought maintains that the universe did not emerge from chaos, but was created according to a perfect, balanced, and symmetrical Divine Order. Under Barenboim’s fingers, Mozart’s music operates with the precision of a finely crafted cosmic clock fashioned by the Creator. The left-hand arpeggios flow with flawless regularity — not a single note misplaced, not a single beat wavering — forming a firm and dignified foundation. This is perceived as the audible embodiment of Natural Law: an immutable divine principle to which all creation must submit and within which it must function. 2. Pure, Untainted Sacred Clarity Mozart’s Classical period was deeply influenced by the ancient Greek ideal of Apollonian beauty — the beauty of light, reason, moderation, and noble purity. Barenboim performs the piece with remarkable serenity. He refrains from heavy, tormented, or theatrical accents that emphasize personal suffering, as many modern performers tend to do. His tone remains crystal-clear and luminous, like drops of pure glass. For traditionalists, this music serves as a spiritual purifying stream, drawing the soul away from material desires and the chaos of the profane world, and guiding it upward toward the heavenly realm of absolute holiness. 3. The Harmonious Union of Divinity and Human Reason Western scholarly literature often describes Mozart’s music as “written by the hand of angels.” Traditionalists greatly admire how Barenboim strictly respects the Sonata Form structure, which clearly divides the piece into three distinct sections: Exposition, Development, and Recapitulation. The musical development never becomes arbitrary; it follows rigorous mathematical logic. This affirms a central tenet of classical philosophy: When human reason and intellect attain their highest perfection, they become a reflection of the Divine Intellect. Human beings do not invent the laws — they discover and give voice to the laws that God has already embedded in the universe. When listening to K. 545 through Barenboim’s interpretation, one is not merely enjoying a piano exercise. One is contemplating a “symphonic architecture made of sound” — a realm where human arrogance is set aside, leaving only harmony, order, and the eternal beauty of Heaven made manifest in this world."

🎉 Congrats to Team Ninja, PlatinumGames, and Microsoft for the launch of Ninja Gaiden 4! Now I can finally talk — Ninja Gaiden 4 is absolute peak, easily my favorite game of the year 🔥 I’m honestly shocked by how good it is. I had high expectations, but damn — it feels amazing to play! It’s super fun, incredibly tight, and far better than I even hoped for. PlatinumGames absolutely nailed it — the responsiveness, the combat flow, the tension, the aggression of enemies, the pure try-hard challenge... it’s all there. 💪 Massive props to them, and of course to Team Ninja for perfectly supervising everything and ensuring that unmistakable Ninja Gaiden DNA shines through. 🥷 While I’m personally not a huge fan of Yakumo’s physical design, his gameplay is crazy fun, and playing as Ryu Hayabusa once again feels like coming home for long-time NG fans. ❤️ I’ve already started recording content — still getting used to the new combat system and changes, but I can already tell this might be the hardest Ninja Gaiden ever. Could it be that Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is finally about to be dethroned? 👀 I’m just so happy with the final product. I can’t wait to spend countless hours mastering it and sharing my content with you all 🔥 #yearoftheninja #ninjagaiden4 #ninjagaiden #teamninja #koeitecmo #platinumgames #action #gamepass #xbox #twitch #youtube #streamer #contentcreator

Arthur Rubinstein performs Chopin’s Nocturne in D-flat major, Op. 27 No. 2, during his celebrated recital in Moscow on 1 October 1964. The most striking feature of this work both technically accomplished and profoundly symbolic — lies in the structural relationship between the left and right hands, which is clearly established from the very first page of the score. The left hand, representing Discipline and Order, provides a continuous, flowing accompaniment in 6/8 time. It establishes a broad, seamless, and unwavering harmonic foundation. This part symbolises an ordered universe governed by law and harmony, rather than chaos. The beautiful, soaring, and freely expressive melody of the right hand can only achieve its full radiance and meaning when it rests upon this firm and stable foundation. Should the left hand falter, the right hand, however exquisite, would lose its balance and true beauty. The right hand, representing the Soul and Freedom, begins with a sustained note before unfolding a lyrical melody marked dolce. This cantabile line moves with complete freedom and grace, adorned with delicate fioriture — ornamental passages that evoke fervent prayer or heavenly song descending from above. Drawing upon the traditions of classical musical aesthetics, three principal reasons explain why this Nocturne continues to be deeply cherished by those who uphold our cultural inheritance: The Nocturne in Op. 27 No. 2 possesses a rare purity and sanctity. Listeners attuned to traditional culture often feel that the music creates a space of spiritual clarity, in which the anxieties, distractions, and coarseness of everyday life are gently washed away, allowing the soul to rise towards what is noble and transcendent. In the traditional understanding of art, a truly great musical work serves as a mirror reflecting the harmonious order of the universe and the created world. This Nocturne is one of its most refined expressions. Although it adheres strictly to the classical laws of harmony, It is not dry or merely academic. On the contrary, it overflows with genuine emotion. Its power lies in a miraculous union: the free and soaring melody of the right hand attains its full sublimity only when supported by the disciplined, architecturally firm foundation of the left hand. This musical truth reflects a profound principle of life itself — that man finds true peace, freedom, and authentic happiness only when he lives in accordance with the natural order and the fundamental moral laws. Chopin composed this work in such a manner that it demands the most refined control of touch and tone, requiring the piano to sing with true bel canto purity. Traditional musicians have long prized this quality, for it restores music to its rightful nature: a sacred medium of communication from heart to heart, and from the human soul towards the divine. This Nocturne does not “tell a story” in any literal sense — something Chopin rarely attempted. Instead, it invites each listener to experience it personally. This very openness is one of its greatest attractions for those who cherish tradition: it suggests and elevates rather than imposes.

#WATCH David Thiek before he was brutally kill and beheaded DAVID THIEK: THE BEHEADING OF LANGZA’S GUARDIAN For almost a month into the ethnic conflict, Langza was untouched by the violence. But all that changed on July 2. Just before dawn on a Sunday, a Meitei mob numbering hundreds descended on the village. Witnesses said one group came in about 40 vehicles, while another group attacked from the upper side of the village by foot. After being warned by a sentry, most of the non-Naga tribals managed to flee to the surrounding hills. David and his friend Richard (name changed to protect identity) were the last to be alerted. Richard said they planned on fleeing with an Activa scooter. As he went to get the vehicle, the Metei mob had reached the village and started burning houses. He abandoned his plan and hid in a bush nearby, but could not warn David, who was still inside his home. What happened next, the friend recalled, would haunt him for the rest of his life – the sound of David being tortured as he screamed in pain and pleaded for his life. After being caught, David’s hands and legs were hacked with machetes. The sadistic attack did not stop there. After he could no longer scream and his body went limp, David’s head was chopped off and his decapitated head displayed on a bamboo fence. His body parts were thrown into the fire of a burning house The killers posted a video of the severed head on social media, with a voice in the background commenting: “This is the face of a Kuki. You look beautiful, you look beautiful... We’ve been trying to catch you people for a long time.” The voice ended with an expletive. Another social media post shows one of the attackers, with his face blurred, walking with the decapitated head of David in one hand and a machete in the other. The shirt, pants, military vest and shoes worn by the man turned out to be exactly same as the ones worn on several occasions publicly by Mr. Mairembam Romesh, the PRO to the MLA of Kumbi assembly constituency. David’s family filed an FIR with the police, but no action has been taken by the state or central government. Even though one of the killers (who happens to be a public face) was identified and his images went viral on social media, no action has been taken against him and no investigation undertaken to probe if he was actually involved in the gruesome attack. The brutal murder, which has shocked the entire Kuki-Zo community, is a symbol of the savagery and moral hollowness of the Metei community in dealing with their fellow human beings. David Thiek may be gone, but he continues to live in the hearts of all Kuki-Zo tribes as the brave unarmed guardian of Langza. #ThisIsKuki_ZoStory #MeiteiAtrocities #MeiteiWarCrimes #StateSponsoredViolenceAgainstKukiZo #ManipurViolence #MeiteiAggression #Meiteilieexpose #ManipurBurning #ManipurHorror #ManipurEthnicCleansing #ZO_UNITED #SeparateAdministrationOnlySolution India TV DD News News24 🇿🇦 Resonant News🌍 News18 NDTV India NewsNation Republic Bharat ANI ABP News News18 India TOI India airnewsalert BBC News India TIMES NOW The Times Of India The Telegraph NewsX World IndiaToday Mirror Now ET NOW WION Northeast Now Republic UN Special Rapporteur Tom Andrews Melissa Fleming 🇺🇳 The Wire newslaundry Al Jazeera English The Times Of India Hindustan Times Amnesty International South Asia, Regional Office President of India Live Law Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India Min. of Home Affairs The DeshBhakt 🇮🇳 The Quint CNN Ashok Swain Lt Gen H S Panag(R) Al Jazeera Breaking News Jairam Ramesh Afrida Hussain ravish ndtv Dhruv Rathee Abhisar Sharma

In the legendary excerpt "I Coulda Been a Contender" from the film On the Waterfront (1954), the best, most meaningful detail and the one that reaches the highest peak is: The action of Terry Malloy (Marlon Brando) gently pushing aside the barrel of the gun of his older brother Charley (Rod Steiger) with his hand, accompanied by a disappointed but compassionate look. 1. The victory of Heavenly Nature (Divinity) over worldly violence In this scene, the older brother Charley, under pressure from the mafia boss, had to draw his gun to threaten and force Terry to continue betraying his conscience. The usual reaction in a modern action movie would be a violent struggle or fear. Terry’s action of gently and slowly pushing aside the gun barrel expresses a spiritual strength that is completely superior to hot weapons. Viewers see this hand movement as the moment when Heavenly Nature (the original goodness of man bestowed by God) subdues Demonic Nature (violence, ambition, and cruelty). Terry does not look at the gun barrel; he looks straight into his brother’s eyes. That gaze is like a revelation, awakening the morality and deep brotherly love that had been obscured by fame and profit in Charley. It was this calm hand movement that made the hardened gangster Charley lower his gun and later accept sacrificing his own life to protect his younger brother. 2. The repentant cry of a soul realizing “The collapse of morality” Right after the hand movement, Terry utters the classic line explaining that he could have had a great future (a contender), instead of being a nobody (a bum) as he is now because of his brother’s arrangement. The ancients did not understand this saying in the narrow sense of regretting a worldly boxing title. They hear in that dialogue the repentant cry of a soul that suddenly realizes it has let itself go, compromised with evil, and lost the dignity of life. In God-transmitted culture, God created man with a noble destiny and integrity; Terry’s act of looking straight at the reality that he is living as a “nobody” in terms of morality is the first step of self-awareness and repentance. 3. Handcrafted cinematic style — Respect for natural order This detail takes place in the narrow, dark space of a taxi, with strong contrasting chiaroscuro lighting on black-and-white film, without any special effects or stimulating music intruding. The stillness and absolute focus on the inner life of the characters in this scene reflect classical thinking: true art does not need artificial external elements to create emotion. Everything happens in accordance with the natural order of psychology and morality. The artists (Marlon Brando and Rod Steiger) perform with selflessness, complete transformation to convey an eternal message about human affection. This “pushing aside the gun barrel” detail is a powerful testament showing that: The conscience and love of man — the illuminating light from Heaven — always has a much greater power to transform than any tyrannical force on earth. 🎞️On The Waterfront | "I Coulda Been A Contender" | CineStream
