Absolutely disgraceful behaviour from Te Pāti Māori’s Debbie Ngarewa-Packer and Labour’s Willie Jackson. Ngarewa-Packer used the word “cunt” in the House and was ejected after arguing with the Speaker. Willie Jackson then argued, resulting in the Serjeant-at-Arms being called to remove him.

Disgusting behaviour. Two MPs treating Parliament like a pub argument and then acting shocked when the Speaker actually enforces the rules. Packer drops the c-word in the House, gets told to leave and Jackson immediately piles in so hard they have to send the Serjeant-at-Arms. That’s not standing up for anyone. That’s just two people who think the standing orders don’t apply to them. Neither are fit to be there.

Urgh Debbie Ngarewa-Packer is a disgusting classless Hua. It goes without saying that there will be people who will elevate her for that Hua behaviour. Trashy

Can’t wait till the Māori party are no longer in parliament

Surely there is a distinction between the use of an offensive term in a quotation from a journalist and not directed as an epithet toward the speaker, and using the term in the other way. I would not have expected that the first set a precedent allowing the second.

What a disgrace. This must be a matter for the Privileges Committee. Such wilful defiance toward the speaker must not be allowed to go unpunished. Will TVNZ and TV3 lead with this story?
