The problem is that everybody that worked on the Halo show, what primarily Mass Effect fans. Unable to gain the rights or they had them be lost them. They tried to beat Halo into a facsimile of what they liked more.

This directly shows all the work of the Marines to locate Chief in Halo 3. That's the entire point, to show that there where people doing Gods work, that never got any recognition, just so that Johnson could link up with Chief at the beginning of Halo 3 Brilliant Storytelling.
