Nurse of the year is a cheap award. I am very sure she will be a happy person if she is awarded a safe way to reach her people when providing medical care. That death row climb should be left for us who face it at Mt Elgon climb.

Thank you for the recognition. You can do 2 things, you can make her work easier by putting in place better infrastructure, and you can review your reward and recognition policies at the ministry to ensure such people are appreciated not only on twitter but also the accounts.

Am absolutely speechless n touched seeing a useless ministry with a useless minister looking at their worker suffering to deliver services n all they can do is type a very touching tweet for everyone to sympathise with them! Come next year, this nurse will go thru the same road.

The nurse in charge of this woman’s care doesn’t seem to be taking her job seriously. The woman suffers from seizures. She was afraid that the nurse would neglect her so she set up her camera on her phone. She then proceeds to have multiple seizures while on camera. The nurse in charge of her was nowhere to be found but luckily another nurse walked by and saw what was going on and stepped in. The Dr let out a sigh in frustration that the woman was left alone like that while being cared for seizures. It’s one thing to be lazy and not like your job but when your job is caring over another life, the consequences need to be brutal, should she be fired and fined for her disregard for patients lives?

Meet Madam Yeboah Agnes Agyapong, a teacher who was posted to teach at a village school in Hlihadzi in the Afram Plains three years ago. Many teachers who were assigned to this village declined their postings due to the lack of electricity, access to portable water, and transportation options in the village(no car comes to the village). Despite these problems, Madam Agnes accepted to teach school children from the village, and she is currently the only teacher in the school teaching in 8 different classrooms.

TENKASI: After a 9-year-old girl died of suspected snakebite, her relatives laid siege to PHC in Thenmalai, alleging that the PHC nurse refused to treat the child and that no doctor was available at the facility. "When I took her to the PHC, there was no doctor. I laid her on a bed, but the duty nurse did not even touch her and asked me to take her to the Sivagiri GH without arranging an ambulance. While we were on our way to Sivagiri, the child died on our two-wheeler," said Jothimani. "The nurse should have simply informed Jothimani that there was no anti-venom in stock, and advised her to take the child to GH. Instead, she behaved rudely and asked Jothimani to leave the premises immediately. Most of the time, doctors are not available at this PHC," said victim's mother. District Health Officer Dr Govinthan said that in additional PHCs like the one in Thenmalai, a doctor would not be available at night and would only provide on-call support. "The PHC staff allowed the child to be taken on a two-wheeler as the ambulance would take time to reach. The actual cause of the child’s death will be known after the postmortem report is received,” he added. The protesting residents demanded that senior health department officials verify the PHC's CCTV footage to establish the truth.
