My 4TH VISIT TO THE ON GOING CONSTRUCTION OF THE ROMI-KARATUDU ROAD: Period: 2012- 2026 1: 2012 awarded by His Excellency, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, of blessed memory. 2: 15th August, 2025, the Gov of Kaduna, His Excellency, Sani uba performed the ground breaking and expanded the project to include more communities. -(a): project is designed to serve over 40,000 local residents. -(b): the reconstruction covers 7 specific township and adjoining roads. They are: Cemetery; Lusawa; Church street/School; Dokaje (Doka); Jema’a; Karatudu-Federal Housing road. 3: Back on site again to inspect the progress of work. It is encouraging to see the project steadily taking shape. -(a): Last month, I was in Romi, and today, I am at the Karatudu axis to inspect the ongoing construction of the road. 4: This road will improve connectivity, ease movement, reduce travel time and boost economic activities across the communities it serves. 5: I will continue to monitor the project until completion. 6: Development is not just about announcements—it is about projects delivered on the ground. My 8th Inspection Visit to the Kabala Costain- Aliyu Makama Road Construction, being executed by the Gov of Kaduna State, HE Senator Uba Sani 2: Significant progress has been achieved on the Kabala–Constain Road project. 3: Current items of work include: -(a): Installation of barrier walls (parapets) at the new bridge -(b): Filling of laterite -(c): Continuation of earthworks 3: NO BORROWING: FUEL SUBSIDY GAINS: -(a): What makes this project even more remarkable is that Governor Senator Uba Sani is not borrowing money to construct this 2.7km dual carriageway. -(b): It is being delivered through the state’s existing resources and commitment to infrastructure development. 4: The steady progress is encouraging. 5: With continued supervision and commitment, this important road will soon be completed and significantly improve connectivity for residents. 6: Development without unnecessary borrowing. My visit to the On-going Reconstruction and Upgrading of Internal Roads at ABU Zaria, by the Gov of Kaduna State, H.E Senator Uba Sani 2: I was inspecting the project when a group of students spotted me that “is that Mr. Woye on X (Twitter) or not”. -(a): My brother Al-Amin Ahmad over heard them and told them, Yes, he is. 3: fortunately for me, they are studying Mechanical Engineering and so they can also relate with the road construction. It was fun hanging out with them. 4: Also, I met a Vet Medicine student who was happy with the road construction. 5: of course, engineers on site explained the project breakdown to me. 6: It is good to be back in Samaru once again. I passed the Eke Obiangu Flyover at Emene this afternoon, now ready and completed in record time. One of the earliest gains of Enugu’s connection to the centre through collaboration between Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Once Governor Mbah took the bold step of dualising the federal road from the Airport Flyover to the Ebonyi State border, President Tinubu promptly approved funding for the Eke Obiangu Flyover to support the road expansion. The notorious traffic snare that once made the junction a nightmare for motorists has disappeared. It is now a smooth, uninterrupted ride into and out of Enugu. Kudos to Mr. President. Kudos to the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi. No president before PBAT has executed this scale of federal infrastructure in Enugu State. Today, the Enugu–Onitsha Expressway is ongoing. The Enugu - PH Expressway is ongoing. The New Artisan Twin Bridges have been completed. The Oji River - 9th Mile - Opi Federal Highway is ongoing. Dualisation of the 9th Mile - Obollo Afor - Otukpo Road is ongoing. And the Abakpa/82 Division Flyover has commenced. Enugu, the headquarters of Ndigbo, is special to President Tinubu. MSMEs are also benefiting from the project. 5: well done Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu David Nweze Umahi Federal Ministry of Finance (Mr. Wale Edun) Federal Ministry of Works 6: I do hope that the HM Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Nigeria Ayodele Olawande will initiate a discussion with the HM Federal Ministry of Works David Nweze Umahi to deploy engineering youth corps members to serve their one year mandatory service on this Lagos/Calabar Coaster Road for knowledge transfer. NYSC NDHQ -(a): also the HM Federal Ministry of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa and ITFNigeria Dr Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun should work out a partnership with the HM Federal Ministry of Works David Nweze Umahi to post ENGINEERING STUDENTS for their SIWES as there are a lot to learn from this project. 7: Finally, to get the cost per kilometer, please visit the site with your tape rule and draft papers, a lot to measure, a lot to calculate. But this is not ignorance. It is a dangerous dismissal of the role of roads play in development, economic empowerment, and the security of our people. I speak not from hearsay but from lived experience, and I invite you to fact-check me yourself. For the first time in many years, Nigeria is witnessing an unprecedented wave of road construction projects. No administration before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s has embarked on repairs and new builds at this scale. Across the country, the evidence is visible: - Southwest & South-South: - Shagamu–Benin Expressway - Ore–Akure Road - Akure–Ado Road - Benin–Sapele–Warri route - Benin–Asaba Road Ibadan - Akure road - Southeast & South-South: - Port Harcourt–Enugu Road - Benue–Enugu Road - East–West Road (Port Harcourt–Warri section, ~75% complete) - Enugu–Onitsha Expressway (~60% complete) - Benin–Auchi–Okene Road (~55% complete) - Newly built Eke Obinagu Flyover, Enugu Ebony - Calabar - Abuja road. Bonny - Port Harcourt Road - Southwest: - Lagos–Ibadan Expressway (~90% complete) - Ilorin–Jebba–Mokwa Road (~81% complete) - Oyo–Ogbomosho Road - North & Middle Belt: - Abuja–Lokoja Road (~65% complete) - Abuja–Keffi–Akwanga–Lafia–Makurdi Road (~70% complete) - Kano–Maiduguri Expressway (remaining sections ~70% complete) And yes, I deliberately left out the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto–Badagry Highway—because even without them, the scale of ongoing work is staggering. I also refused to mention the level of roads done in Abuja by Minister Nyesom Wike. This is not about emotions or partisan loyalty. It is about facts on the ground.
