We also passed AB 421 - a bill that looks to simplify and update our referendum process. Right now it’s designed for people to lie and intentionally confuse voters.

Asked by a colleague how the process was confusing, we responded with a basic question and proved even lawyers on the elections committee don’t fully understand the process… so how could voters, when it was designed to confuse them?

We also passed a historic bill with @BenAllenCA that requires independent redistricting commissions to be established across the state. Elected officials should not be drawing their own lines, and what happened in LA should never happen again.

This is how to fix voting in a constitutional republic: 1. Only those in mandatory selective service get to vote 2. Pass the SAVE Act and ensure only legal citizens are voting 3. Have at least three years of gainful employment and are currently paying taxes 4. One vote per household, the standard throughout most of human history Those who only stand to gain will always vote for more gain.

We should be able to track a ballot just like we can track a package. California already does this, but my Vote By Mail Tracking Act—which just passed the House—would add a barcode to each ballot nationwide, so every American can have confidence their vote is counted.

[WATCH] AROUND 150 OUT OF OVER 10 000 CANDIDATES ARE AFFECTED BUT THIS IS STILL SIGNIFICANT AS EVERY CANDIDATE COUNTS. This issue is affecting about 150 out of over 10 000 candidates submitted, but even that number is very significant to the ANC because our communities participated in the selection of those candidates and have a right to vote for them. We also aim to retain the municipalities that we govern and to ensure that we reclaim those that we are not governing. We want to ensure the program of services and transformation continue in South Africa. The ANC is the only party that contests all the wards on a VD by VD basis. Every vote counts for the ANC so this will dent us if we do not take it up. Every municipality counts to ensure us that we fulfill our historical mission

“We insist that if you can vote in person you should do unless you have a very good reason not be able to do which is either that you are serving your country abroad or that you are physically unable to vote in person”. When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. In order to tackle the highly localised issue of family voting a Reform Government plans to remove the right of everyone to vote by post. This will have a huge impact on older people and those with disabilities in constituencies where family voting isn’t an issue, not to mention removing the convenience for many others. Voting should be encouraged, not disenfranchised.
