That's every "consulting" company. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

Consulting is the most useless profession on earth. They go in and crunch and a bunch of number after observing something they know nothing about and then pretend they solved something. It’s a pyramid scheme that at some point will come crashing down.

I’m glad she’s figuring this out young. Accenture is one of the worst but many companies are like this.

lmao.....This is classic consulting firm and what she should have noticed is that everyone was on average 26 years old. Because that life is very perishable. The idea is to get it, bash hard, move out of the blast zone (anything below engagement manager) or move out to industry. You are not supposed to enjoy firm life., It sucks. The deal is that you bash like a mad person 24 hours a day, build your CV and move up or out. It is an incredbibly demanding and abusive life. But you can shave off about 10 to 15 years off your career path to the top by just gritting your teeth and taking a bite off that shit sandwich. Or you can cry online.

Accenture hires cheap unskilled workers from India to employ them online into Canada, and make a fortune. Fact.

Because consulting is fraudulent and a way to funnel money through these consulting company for kickbacks. They won’t last long. AI is gobbling up what "consulting" is actually supposed to do.

That's pretty much every "Consulting" company out there. Corporations waste billions to be told what they already know, but use it as justification for leadership failures.

Almost every one of these consultancy firms are like this. Deloitte, Cognizant, PwC, Infosys... etc

When I worked for Medicaid/State of NC, we had Accenture consultants and all of them people were dead on the inside and outside. The way they would be swapped out was crazy. As soon as you learned one of their names, they were being removed off of the project.

I know Deloitte has a high turnover rate as well. My friend told me people can easy get promoted to partner but Deloitte will make you work for every dollar

They will work you until there is nothing left! We had EY consultants during Covid when I was in state government and they were easily doing 60 to 70 hours per week and we all knew that they made really good money but my God on today, they were all miserable.

This is 100% true. Saw this happen daily for 4 years straight. And the people they abused were so talented, smart, and hard working.

Consulting companies are all a scam. They sell you services based on problems that don't exist, or they create problems from nothing and convince businesses they need consulting. It's basically the worst aspects of HR, but it's from a contracted company rather than internal.

Lol. Yrs ago one of our dipshit new c-levels hired Mckinsey to "evaluate" the business (since he knew nothing about it). All the consultants except 1 were under 25 & 3 of the 6 got 'reassigned/replaced' during this short project. The work product was...weak. $1.4m paid.bye

Accenture is a body shop. They now make most of their money convincing companies to layoff loyal staff and let Accenture replace them with a “managed service” contractor base. Big management fad currently that’s making these body shops rich. Outcomes are quite poor.

Consulting is basically meetings, Powerpoints, fancy scoping documents billed at $400/hr, and young people who look good in Oxford button up shirts.

If your company hires a consultancy to tell them what they’re doing wrong, start looking for a new job. It means that your upper management doesn’t understand the business, and doesn’t trust its own employees, either. Get out while you can.

I worked there, smart people, but the work is mostly pointless because they suck at the teet of the corporate swamp. You provide what they ask for, new ideas, a plan, etc but 80-85% dies on the vine because clients are in self preservation It’s true most sales are lies and the delivery staff has to figure it out. I personally alerted execs this is not a true capability we have done at this estimate and they all didn’t care, wanted that revenue win next to their name.

Yep. Did a couple years in the Big 4 after being in a 30 person startup. They weren’t human and everything was bullshit or politics. Or both. Knowing how sausage is made early is a gift, so remember that.

In Czech Republic 🇨🇿, we call them “Accent-curaci”, which translates to “Accent-dicks” and it’s self-explanatory. Horrible company, they fucked up badly SO many projects, it’s not even funny.

Big Consulting and Big 4 as a first job does allow you to see how the sausage is made, plus allows you to see different client landing sites for the remainder of your career. Four-five years of that knowledge and experience, no matter the quality, can set you up best for that 25-30 year position. I agree with the young woman here - Accenture is the bottom half of effective vendors. The bigger the firm and the more buzzwords you hear, the less effective experience the client realizes, in general.

I worked for them, what she says is true They hire young naive fresh graduates, proceed to work the hell out them (they paid OT) and you get burned out When they bid for projects, they underbid to get it, then come back to the Client saying Oh btw, the cost & time has doubled

That’s like many of us who went to Big 4 And once we get let go, then we can’t even find accounting work, not even AP simply because the big 4 doesn’t prepare you for industry accounting All you’re left with is to work at smaller accounting firms

I despise ‘consultants’. The absolute best one I’ve ever worked with was just ok. The vast majority of them are net negative with the bottom decile bordering on criminally negligent. Never trust your business to people who have no skin in the game.
