Akira Kurosawa was said to be so impressed by "The Magnificent Seven" (1960) that he presented director John Sturges with a Ceremonial Sword. However, in an interview in 1966, Kurosawa said that he was disappointed with the movie. He said, "The American copy of 'Seven Samurai' (1954), is a disappointment, although entertaining. It is not a version of 'Seven Samurai'. I do not know why they call it that." Hyd Police Statement : #Nani 's #HIT 3 film was uploaded in iBomma before 18 hours of its theatrical release and that too in Original HD quality. When "Silent Night, Deadly Night" (1984) was released in the USA, angered parents who were not happy to see Santa Claus depicted as an ax murderer, picketed theaters where the movie was screened and asked oncoming patrons to sign petitions to have the film removed from theaters. A group was formed to protest the film and lobby for it to be removed from theaters was called "Citizens Against Movie Madness". Two weeks later, the film was withdrawn. Even though executives at the studio stayed away from the media when the controversy erupted, writer Michael Hickey said he accepted any request for an interview he got, including Entertainment Tonight. He thought the controversy was absolutely hilarious and a lot of fun. He said, "I was in no way chagrined by the controversy, I thought it was great! Waterworld was a production nightmare & at the time of its release, it was the most expensive film ever made- coming in with a budget of approximately $175 million back in 1995. The film eventually became profitable, but rewrites, hurricanes, and set issues pushed the film’s budget to new heights. The entire production/release of this film did a number on Costner’s reputation. With all that said, I enjoy this film& think the criticism of it was overdone.

According to James B. Harris, the preview screenings for Stanley Kubrick's "The Ki!!ing" (1956) were poor. It was said that the poor response was due to the confusing non-linear structure and the movie was ruined because of it. Sterling Hayden's agent suggested to edit the movie again to make the structure linear. Kubrick and others rented an editing room in New York & started to work. Midway through the process, they had the realisation that it was the structure of the book by which they were impressed and took the decision to make the movie. Everyone felt changing it would be wrong. So, they showed the movie with the original structure to United Artists, who thought it was terrific. No changes were made. (James B. Harris's interview to Film Comment, 2015) P.S: On this day, 70 years ago, "The Ki!!ing" (1956) premiered in New York City, USA.
