Zimbabwe has been elected as one of the 10 non-permanent members of the 15-member United Nations Security Council for a two-year term, beginning on 1 January 2027 and ending on 31 December 2028. Zimbabwe will become one of three African countries serving on the 15-member Council, joining the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Liberia.
