Unfortunately, I noticed that CENTCOM released footage of the destruction of a historic fighter jet at the 3rd Tactical Fighter Base of the Iranian Air Force in Dezful. It was a decommissioned MiG-23BN of the Iraqi Air Force that had defected to Iran in 1991 and I was trying to have it transferred to the Iranian Air Force Museum in Tehran in 2012. However, the aircraft remained in Hamedan following to my arrest by the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence, and unfortunately this historic aircraft was destroyed today. This MiG-23BN defected to Iran in January 1991 during Operation Desert Storm, and it was one of the over ten MiG-23s that defected to Iran. Unfortunately, almost all of them were scrapped in Dezful and Hamedan and their wreckage were moved to Tehran, and the last one, which was supposed to be displayed in the museum, was finally destroyed by a U.S. Air Force MQ-9A drone in Hamedan. I also noticed that all F-4s of Shahrokhi Air Base had already been evacuated from the base to protect them from the threat of U.S. airstrikes. Therefore, what remained there was this historic MiG-23BN of the Iraqi Air Force, which was parked in one of the hardened aircraft shelters. First Sen Murphy brags about leaking information from a classified briefing. Then he claims that we are "not going to be able to achieve any of our stated objectives," ignoring our incredible achievements so far...such as those presented today in National Review by Noah Rothman: "To date, U.S. forces alone have conducted strikes on at least 5,500 Iranian targets, according to Admiral Brad Cooper, in accordance with the American military’s objective in this war: eliminating Iran’s capacity to “project power” across its borders. America’s operational tempo is accelerating while Iran’s is in retreat. The Iranian ballistic-missile launch rate is down 92 percent from the first day of hostilities. U.S. forces have entombed much of Iran’s stockpiles in their underground “missile cities.” U.S. drones monitor from the skies the cities that it hasn’t hit, striking them only when they observe Iranian activity. 🇺🇸🇰🇷 The US has officially created and deployed the first permanent MQ-9 Reaper strike-reconnaissance UAV unit in South Korea, the 431st Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron, based at Kunsan Air Base. Interestingly, this is effectively the first revival of this unit since World War II, when it previously consisted of interceptors escorting strategic bombers during air raids on Japan. The squadron is subordinate to the 8th Fighter Wing, where F-16s are already based, and will become a key element for continuous monitoring of the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea. The MQ-9 can stay airborne for more than 24 hours, is equipped with an electro-optical/infrared system and an AN\/APY-8 Lynx radar, and can also carry reconnaissance pods and a payload of guided weapons.
