P’Zee and Mixxiw story T: They started talking around 3am. 5am they still didn’t get what each other was saying. But they had such a long conversation. They sat and talked properly. I heard it from the distance. Mixxiw asked this P’Zee answered that. I turn to P’Tum “Are they talking on the same subject? I’m confused” T: P’Zee is really nice. He wants to give Mix an answer. He wants to answer but answer to the right subject or not, that’s another story. So I told Mixxiw to ask P’Zee indirectly. Ask around the subject. If you want him to answer this question. The British people didn’t ask them to come back to Britain. They don’t have to be in Britain. We don’t really know why they are in Britain.” He then set out a straightforward position: “Of course if there is any intelligence that leads to a threat to them, they will be alerted, and then they could get some protection if it was specific. But in general I think they should pay for their own security as anybody else has to.” That is entirely reasonable. The taxpayer should not be forced to fund security for two people who walked away from the Royal Family and the country, insisting they wanted to be private citizens. They got what they asked for, and many were happy to see the back of them. Now they are back and pressing for the security they were previously denied. We have already been through this, and the decision was that they should not receive it. Curtis immediately tried to misrepresent the point: “They can decide where they live. They’re British citizens. They have as much right to be in Britain as you or I do.” Andrew Neil put him right at once: “I didn’t say they had no right. I just said they don’t have a right for us to pay.” Curtis argued that these decisions are not about popularity or status, but purely about risk: “I don’t know if there is a risk, but if there is then obviously the British state has a responsibility to keep them safe and give them the security that they need.” Neil’s reply was simple: “Sure. Instead, they should've said, “You don’t pick our negotiator, we pick him.” I think what happened is they allowed Putin to influence this. And then they started using his friends. I would've liked to remain representative for both Ukraine and Russia, but that didn’t happen. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. So I said it’s President Trump’s decision. He is the President, he makes such decisions, not me.
