According to new reports, Harris’ team has requested vetting info from several potential VP picks, but Andy Beshear’s name was not on that list. LEX News caught up with the governor as he was leaving the Capitol around 11 this morning. Here’s what we learned:

@LEX18News Honestly I think Beshear is more valuable as governor of Kentucky, he can oversee the general election there. We've all seen Mitch McConnell public freezes, if he resigns or retires before his senate term ends. Beshear can appoint his replacement.

He explained that he was once arrested but later released after it was established that he had no direct ties with bandits. According to him, he only acted as a middleman between former Governor Matawalle and various bandit groups on Matawalle’s instructions.
