There's been more fallout from the recent release of millions of documents related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The British government on Wednesday said it'll release documents related to Peter Mandelson, who was appointed as ambassador to the U.S. despite his ties to Epstein. Also on Wednesday, philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said he regrets "every minute" he spent with Epstein after an e-mail in the files alleged that Gates was having an extramarital affair, which he denies. Meanwhile, lawyers for Epstein's victims reached a deal with the Justice Department to protect the identities of nearly 100 women who were reportedly affected by the release of the documents.

Here's what CNN did with that release. They defended Bill Clinton and then pivoted to the dangers of releasing these types of documents to the public. Coates and her guests warned about right wing conspiracy theorists and about using the documents for political "gotcha" moments. Times have changed a little huh? At least CNN acknowledged the story back then, which was more than any politician did when the documents were released. For some reason our politicians just didn't care about the Epstein story two years ago.
