It’s always a Somali problem. Let’s stop blaming foreigners. Of course they want to steal everything but they are not putting guns in our head. It’s Somalis that letting it happen. It’s a Somali problem not a western problem.

Well Türkiye has not done so much. They are the one profeting just like those countries that he’s accusing of. Look at the airport? Look at the port, hospital? Not so much different since they took over, it doesn’t make them better. So Türkiye came to Somalia for its own gain.

Is Turkey part of the int’l powers? Academic integrity dictates he also talks about Turkey’s role in Somalia and how his country is also both geopolitically, economically, and militarily benefiting from the Somali conundrum. Otherwise, whatever he says is one-sided and biased.

THE HIDDEN COST OF U.S. INTERVENTION In this clip from the 1990s, political scientist Michael Parenti dispelled the official narrative surrounding the United States military intervention in Somalia, exposing the economic and geopolitical interests that drove the invasion. While the US claimed it was acting out of humanitarian concern, Parenti argued the true motivations were corporate oil interests and strategic calculations, largely ignored by the mainstream media. Somalia is located at the entrance of the Red Sea, a resource-rich and crucial shipping lane. Even before the intervention, major US oil interests had secretly negotiated exploration rights in most of Somalia's territory, recognising its potential as a strategic jewel. Parenti placed Somalia in a broader context, in which Western powers deploy troops into African countries not to end crises but to safeguard resources and avert geopolitical rivalry. The result? African sovereignty is undermined, corporate interests are advanced, and the roots of the crisis remain intact. Under Donald Trump, US policy toward Somalia took another turn, but remained rooted in militarism and strategic self-interest. Throughout his first term, Trump oversaw troop withdrawals but maintained clandestine drone strikes, with reported civilian casualties. His second term has been characterised by strikes in the Golis mountains while he withdrew developmental and military assistance. These mutually exclusive moves, bombing and militarising but not building, echo the same decades-long pattern. The war in Somalia has taken a new turn in recent years, as countries like the UAE and Israel are pushing for Somaliland and Puntland independence, with the strategic aim of controlling the regions closer to the Red Sea. Countries like Turkey and Qatar support Mogadishu with an eye on coastal ports and the massive oil reserves, which are estimated to be around 30 billion barrels. To Africans, the question is: What will it take to end interventions of the foreign powers and their proxies in our homeland? Al-Shabaab Fighters Appear in Somaliland’s Golis Mountains (Currently occupied by SSC), Raising Alarm In a troubling development, Al-Shabaab has released a video showing its fighters operating in the Golis Mountains of Somaliland’s SSC-occupied region. This marks the first reported appearance of Al-Shabaab militants in Somaliland’s northern territories. The fighters in the video are seen communicating in dialects typically associated with southern and central #Somalia, including the Maxaa Tiri dialect and Maay Maay, rather than the local northern Somali dialect. The group identifies itself as the Liwa Al-Quds unit, further raising concerns about the growing presence of Al-Shabaab in regions previously considered more secure. This development highlights the consequences of #Mogadishu’s ongoing policies, which have contributed to instability and fragmentation across Somali regions. By failing to effectively address the growing influence of extremist groups, Mogadishu is not only allowing the spread of Al-Shabaab but also fostering division that is creating more disabled Somali regions, weakening the overall national security framework. Security analysts have warned that if the video’s authenticity is confirmed, the situation could escalate rapidly. They stress that swift and effective action is necessary to contain the spread of Al-Shabaab’s influence in #Somaliland (SSC occupied portions), as its presence in the northern region could have severe and destabilizing consequences.

I share with the United Nations, the European Union, and the United States the ongoing massacre in Awdal Region by the Isaac family militias calling themselves Somaliland. Yesterday we learned about the events that took place in the SSC 2023 regions by the Isaac family militias calling themselves Somaliland. Today, the SSC regions have become the Northeastern Regional State of Somalia, a member state of the federal government of Somalia, after a brutal massacre by the RRU forces trained by the British government. Therefore, today, the Isaac family administration led by Cabdiraxmaan Cirro has begun a massacre and destruction of property in Borame, the capital of Awdal region. The people of Awdal and Selel are being massacred so that they cannot achieve their desire for their region to be part of a regional administration under the federal government of Somalia. The people being killed are being used as weapons and ammunition in regions that reject the idea of secession. The money that is being spent on killing people from Awdal is donations given to the Isaac family who call themselves Somaliland and they use the donations to buy weapons and ammunition to oppress the people of northern Somalia. Please save the people of Awdal before a humanitarian disaster occurs. You know the old saying: “A wounded lion is more dangerous than a healthy one.” After somaliland big defeat in Goojacade, Sool in 2023 and several other losses over the past three years, Somaliland has realized they cannot win a military fight against the unionist forces in Sool (north west Somalia) So now they have switched tactics. They are setting traps and plotting against Somali people both inside Somalia and around the world especially in Mogadishu and other major cities like lasanod. They are working with countries & right wing that are against Somalia to turn international opinion against the Somalis. Inside Somalia, they are doing the same thing. Since their defeat in Sool, Mogadishu has become much safer. Al Shabaab has also lost a lot of its power there because many of its top leaders are from Somaliland. Now, Somalilanders are stirring up trouble in Mogadishu. They are using money to bribe half Isaaq/ Hawiye, Darood, and Dir youth in order words youth from issaq mothers to create violence and fights between peaceful communities like we saw in sanaag and sool. Stories like public harassment of girl in stadium which happened in Mogadishu last week, the perpetrators were paid to do that crime in public which was part of their propaganda against Somalia and to further promote their case in western world as being the good Somalis. All Somalis both inside the country and in the diaspora need to stay alert and watch out for these plots and traps.
