I've been riding this roller coaster for 25 years

I’m going for a ride on this coaster next week lol

here’s one I think you’ll appreciate🤣😂

Too accurate 😂 That emotional rollercoaster is so real

@Riddhi1450 I have a feeling I’m gonna be good by on that ride next week. It’s the jobs that shouldn’t be terribly complicated that always seem to throw a wrench in things, at least for me😫😂

Haha same here 😭 The “easy” jobs somehow always end up being the most chaotic 😂 Hope this ride surprises you in a good way next week

It’s a very bad axle (both are pretty fvcked), but the passenger is worse. The bearings and just about everything is fvcked, which makes me think it could be a rough one, but only one way to find out. I’m just buying time until I can get another car tbh. It’s 22 years old with a failing transmission. 3rd gear is gone and 4th is on its way out. Just the parts for the clutch alone is worth more than the car, and even if I knew what I was doing, and can’t drop a transmission by myself, so I’m doing the bare minimum

at that point you’re basically keeping it alive out of pure determination 😭 Hopefully it holds on long enough for you to get a newer car without dropping a fortune into this one.

@Riddhi1450 That’s what I’m hoping, especially with the engine in good shape. The trans doesn’t have much left in it, but we’re gonna find out just how much in the meantime

All of this but with a trailer hitch on a Hyundai. The 17mm swivel socket was never used but the exhaust hanger plyers were.

Speaking of, that’s the last socket size I need for my upcoming job on my own Hyundai😁

@Rothmus Facts!!!!

@Rothmus The struggle is real 💯🤣

@Rothmus Love it!

@Rothmus I mean, it’s true😆😆

I had that conversation with Claude Code yesterday. After he failed to get it right 3 times, I said "I will just do it". Then I couldn't do it either.

I always underestimate myself, but I’m no mechanic. If it can take longer than expected for a job, I’m your girl 💪🤪

@Rothmus Accurate AF!

@Rothmus Don’t I know it😫😂

Sometimes lol

I’m always excited to get the parts, but it’s that in between period, after the parts arrive, but before the job is finished, that’s a bit rough lol. A lot of swearing, a bleeding knuckle or two, something goes wrong, etc

I love the parts sitting around. If I had unlimited money and time I would just sit around and work on cars and trucks all the time

I’ve had a new passenger axle in my trunk for a few months, and the axle has been bad for a couple years. I think I’m finally gonna do it next week, and I haven’t done one in a couple decades

That could be one of those big jobs like in the video lol.

Oh, I’m aware, which is part of why I put it off😂😂

Oh the feels omg

A total rollercoaster, as the bf recently saw. I told him to sit in the car if he couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. He wasn’t really smiling, but I was at that point, and he’s useless as t!ts on a bull with anything mechanical or electrical. He totally owns this, asked if I’d assemble a moped for him, and I agreed. He knows his limitations, just as I know mine. Wouldn’t trust him to hold my flashlight, but he’s a dear

FOR REAL

May your future jobs go smoothly, though it’s rarely the case

WORD UP

Labor rates: $150 hr $200 hr with your parts $250 hr if you worked on it before $300 hr if you watch $500 hr if you help

Those prices are part of why I started working on my mown car

This is 100% accurate. You hit the entire spectrum of emotions.

Right? Talk about a rollercoaster

All except for he beer thing yeah pretty spot tf on

Why them tools so expensive tho fr

The instructions in the kit always make it sound so simple. Then to get it installed you always have to remove way more stuff than it says, and it is never a perfect fit and requires a lot of adjustments.

yo, your dms are closed, dm me pls

"This looks nothing like the one I just removed"

Lmao

I had an oil change go this way last week, dunno why they have to bury the damn filter above the axle

😆

Me, cranking down an undersized spring compressor to swap out the struts on the shitbox, praying for forgiveness or a quick death after sending devilwoman inside because she was doing the mashed potato.. My neighbor coming over and asking.. "Do you know what you're doing?"

Huh... thought it was just me.
