AC/DC – “It’s a Long Way to the Top” This performance aired in 1976 on the Aussie show Bandstand, years after pub gigs with Deep Purple’s crew at the Sunbury Pop Festival. That year, they signed an international record deal, launching their rock legacy. RIP Bon Scott—a legend.

Nobody watching this knew they were witnessing the end of an era. In February 9, 1980, Bon Scott appeared with AC/DC on the Spanish TV show Aplauso, performing “Beating Around the Bush,” “Girls Got Rhythm” and “Highway to Hell.” It would become Bon Scott’s final television appearance with AC/DC. Just 10 days later, on February 19, 1980, he was gone. He was only 33 years old. Watching this footage more than 46 years later carries a whole different weight when you know what happened. Bon Scott was one of a kind. 🤘 Enjoy this piece of rock and roll history. Were you an AC/DC fan during the Bon Scott years?

It's hard to believe this is the same guy who would later become one of the greatest frontmen in rock history. Long before AC/DC, Bon Scott was singing with The Valentines, performing upbeat pop songs that gave almost no hint of the raw, unmistakable voice that would later shake stadiums around the world. Every legend has a beginning... and sometimes it's nothing like the legacy they leave behind. #BonScott #ACDC

In 1976, AC/DC were still trying to make their name in the UK, and somebody caught this incredible little piece of rock history on the streets of London. The interview was filmed around Covent Garden for the Australian music show Countdown. Bon Scott does most of the talking while Angus Young and the rest of the band wander through London with him. Bon jokes that AC/DC are better than the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, talks about finding inspiration by keeping his eyes and ears open, and Angus jokes about making enough money to buy Big Ben. They even introduce “Jailbreak” before heading into a nearby pub. There’s nothing polished about it. That’s what makes the footage so good. This is AC/DC in 1976, before they became one of the biggest rock bands in the world, just being themselves on a London street. Would you have recognized the band walking down the street in 1976?

Imagine it is 1976 and you have the chance to see AC/DC with Bon Scott. He had all a rock and roll front man might ever asked for, the eyes and the voice of a mad man. One of the best front men of all time. AC/DC performing 'Jailbreak' live at London Wimbledon, on the 13th of July, 1976.

''They say humans are 70% water but I’m convinced Bon Scott was 100% Rock N’ Roll.'' The best hard-driving rock and roll band took the stage at TopPop in 1979, with their incredibly talented vocalist Bon Scott. AC/DC powering up the stage with 'Girls Got Rhythm' on an awesome stage. Alcohol stole so much from us.
