Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden combined. This is not normal. This is not justice. This is an orchestrated campaign of judicial obstruction. If you care about the Epstein Files, you need to watch this reporting from the New York Times. The Trump Administration has done everything possible to avoid releasing them. The survivors deserve real justice, and this Administration is doing everything it can to stand in the way of that. It needs to stop. The survivors and the American people deserve the truth.

The president, in a Truth Social post, said, “This merger between Nexstar and Tegna should be approved, period.” The Department of Justice ignored its established standards. They didn’t explain why—they just waved this right through. A coalition of state AGs is now in court. On April 7th, we’re going to be before a judge asking for a preliminary injunction so we can stop this merger completely.

It’s really not up to the Supreme Court to say, “Well, we have reached the threshold where this issue around race and inclusion is no longer necessary.” That is not the job of the Court. And I’m struck, quite frankly, by the very easy and nonchalant way in which this extreme, activist Court knocks down precedent after precedent. The bar for doing that ought to be high, but we’re seeing with this Court—whether we’re talking about voting rights or a woman’s bodily autonomy, the right to decide with respect to her own body—they just strike down things they don’t like. They don’t have any respect, in the ways that we expect courts traditionally to, for precedent. And when precedents are torn down, you need a darn good reason to do it—and they are an activist court.

I’ve covered the FBI for a lot of years and the Department of Justice for a lot of years—you don’t get advance warning of raids, in part because it’s viewed that it could put people in jeopardy, either the people being raided or the raiders. What’s more, it is prescribed in the Justice Manual: you do not give the media advance warning of a search unless it has high levels of approval. This has happened before, but in this case it clearly had a high level of approval. But look at the Justice Manual, then look at the images on the screen—you can see those two are not connected. What’s more, it really is telling that the Department of Justice is trying to take a megaphone to blast out this search. It’s clearly a political rival of the president’s. What’s more, they’re blasting this out while they keep behind closed doors what’s happening with the Epstein files. Howard Lutnick’s interview is behind closed doors, and there’s been no action by the Department of Justice to hear or amplify the voices of Epstein survivors.
