Been there. It's the main attraction for sure, and it's definitely a wonder, but I was more interested in the Acropolis below it. Both are worth seeing if you have the chance.

We went from one ancient ruin, the Acropolis, to another, the Greek Olympic site also in Athens including the running track, Velodrome and swimming pool, from 2004. Sad to see.

What language was spoken in the first legislature of the Greek parliament in 1821? And what ethnicity was the majority of VPs?

The Parthenon’s marble columns are subtly curved. Builders in ancient Athens knew perfectly straight lines look warped to the human eye, so they added micro adjustments to correct the illusion. It is one of history’s earliest uses of optical engineering.
