This summer, #YourFBI and our law enforcement partners launched Operation Summer Heat, a multi-pronged offensive to crush violent crime. Nationally, Summer Heat led to 8,629 arrests, including more than 30 fugitives wanted for murder. In addition, law enforcement identified or located 1,053 victim children and seized 44,569 kilograms of cocaine, 421 kilograms of fentanyl, and 2,281 weapons. By surging resources alongside state and local partners, executing federal warrants on violent criminals and fugitives, and dismantling violent gangs nationwide, the FBI is aggressively restoring safety in our communities across the country and around the globe.
