A Delta flight from Los Angeles to Boston diverted to Detroit after the pilot became ill midflight. The pilot can be heard telling a controller that he needed to go to the hospital once they reached the gate. Delta says the flight landed safely, the crew member disembarked and the flight was re-crewed before continuing to Boston. The nature of the illness was not disclosed.

United Airlines flight UA613, en route from Lagos to Washington, declared an emergency and returned to Lagos shortly after takeoff. Several passengers and crew members on the Boeing 787-8 sustained injuries during the incident. Minutes after Southwest flight 1496 took off from Burbank, it rapidly descended 475 feet to avoid hitting another plane — dropping from 14,100 feet to 13,625 feet, according to flight tracking data and passenger accounts. The other aircraft was identified as a Hawk Hunter with the N-number "N335AX," which was at approximately 14,653 feet when the Southwest flight had to make its emergency descent. Southwest airlines said in a statement, "The Crew of Southwest Flight 1496 responded to two onboard traffic alerts Friday afternoon while climbing out of Burbank, Cal., requiring them to climb and descend to comply with the alerts. The flight continued to Las Vegas, where it landed uneventfully. Southwest is engaged with the Federal Aviation Administration to further understand the circumstances. According to local media Ryanair flight FR1879, a Boeing 737-8AS, returned safely to Greece on Friday after part of a damaged engine reportedly detached and struck a cabin window. A 61-year-old man, who is from Serbia upon the return of the plane, was taken to AHEPA and will undergo a CT scan to see if he has fractures. This happened yesterday at San Antonio International Airport. This San Antonio to Philadelphia flight was delayed because this woman refused to put her bag in the overhead bin. 🤯 All of the passengers had to exit the plane they just boarded so police officers could remove this woman from the flight. And she is not remorseful one bit. 😳 You can see the other passengers cheering as she exits the plane.👏 Many connections were missed because of this delay. In what universe do people like this live in? Whether she agreed with the flight attendant or not, grab what you need out of your bag, listen to the attendant and put your bag up like she told you. Then be quiet and let everyone enjoy their flight and be on there way. 💯 Nope- she was combatant and argued with the flight attendants and then would not get off the plane until police officers escorted her off.
