there's no dirt road that leads up to that place it's literally just an abandoned military town in california off air expressway & 395 directly across from a very dangerous prison but go off with the clickbait videos

George Air Force Base, a former U.S. military site in Victorville, California, closed in 1992 after 40 years of service due to severe groundwater contamination from jet fuel and other toxins.

probably an old "base" town for military families

That is definitely a closed military base. The buildings in the background are barracks for enlisted troops.

BRAC created a bunch of abandoned bases when it closed U.S. military installations.

Oh hey that's milsim west

(...closed military bases tend to suck. Sometimes the area is still full of stuff the EPA notes will kill you. You didn't stumble onto anything a f-cking map couldn't explain. Asbestos in the place. All over. Used liberally. construction from the 40's-50's. Etc. Bad. Ick.)

could be a cool thing to buy an old ghost town and get people to come and rescue dogs there.. build a community of rescuers and dogs.. and no leash laws..

They forcibly closed down one town because it was a mining town next to a huge lead deposit. They finally realized that all the water was lead fouled, the dust was lead too. Ted Nugent used to live there. ask him.

George airforce place. It’s a fun (and dangerous) place. They host Airsoft MilSim events there and other little events.

They closed it down due to groundwater contamination yet other places in the United States like Bethpage(Grumman) and the surrounding towns they still live there… it has the highest cancer cluster rate

George AFB. Victorville California

It was George Air Forse Base in Victorville, California, it closee in 1992 after 50 years due to groundwater contamination from jet fuel and solvents.

I know this place. They had a severe radiological and biochemical accident there. Horrifying.

Looks like the Victorville Ca police training grounds

Couldn’t we house the homeless and mentally ill people here ?

This is Victorville it’s a combat training center now. I drove a hummer through a house while I was in the Marine Corps out there it was awesome lol.

I bet all the copper wire has been stripped and taken to a recycler

A contained zombie outbreak location

@grok where is this?

Looks like a place to train police and military in urban warfare techniques.

Half of America in 30 years.

Did you see any of the Brady's there? ---

Isnt that an old airforce base that was shutdown?

Move a few signs around, and it could be a real tourist attraction.

Would be a cool place to go do an amateur radio Field Day

Meanwhile a mile down the road👇

Old George AFB housing in Adelanto.

I wonder how much radiation or deadly viruses are lingering in the air there.

Calm down goobers.... it's George Air Force Base.
