Silver admits there's been tanking for decades, did nothing about it while teams like the Spurs and Thunder thrived because of it but now decides to take it out on two other small-market teams (Jazz and Pacers) who haven't benefited from tanking or the lottery. The NBA needs a new boss. He's not it.

Adam Silver when asked if penalties for tanking could include losing draft picks:

Horrible answer from a horrible commissioner. Acknowledges taking running rampant thru the league, doesn’t acknowledge why he only targeted Jazz & Pacers? Says teams have an obligation to the fans, but then says the fans are cheering for the tanking? Time for a new commissioner.

So he thinks it wasn’t bad when Wemby was in the class

So it’s not just the jazz and pacers tanking… why not fine them all?

Penalizing the Pacers for resting a guy in the top 30 of minutes played because Sam Presti cried about it is why the NBA is garbage and no one wants to watch it anymore…

Adam Silver was the “cool” parent he wanted to be friends with everyone instead of doing his job. That is exactly how they got here. Now he has no control and doesn’t know how to fix it. Weak and incompetent that no one respects.

Did nobody in that room have the stones to ask him why the disparity in his selective punishments?

What about a fine for trading Luka Doncic for Kris Middleton and a few second round picks? Mavs have quietly lost 9 in a row. Can a team still get fined for tanking after winning the lottery the previous year?

Ok Adam, you want to do this to the Jazz and Pacers!!?? 1- Why has there not been Any Fines and Suspensions to the Clippers for circumventing the Salary cap with Kawaii Leonard? 2- Why haven’t the Portland Trailblazers been fined for Chauncey Billyups illegal gambling ring?

“I only want big market teams to tank”

So - We can’t have tanking for the fans - Being a middle of the road team is actually the worst - The fans of these teams actually want tanking - The system rewards tanking - We wanted to make an example of UTA and IND - The system is broken though

The difference is sports betting. Thats the only reason the NBA gives a shit. Or they don’t want Utah to get another good pick. Tanking has been part of the league for decades

@TheSteinLine Adam we hate you. You are ruining the league. This system is your fault. Just resign. #FireAdamSilver

Its all rigged anyway. You allowed the Mavs to execute the worst trade in history then rewarded them with the first pick. The integrity of the game is all gone at this point so who the hell cares.

My question would have been simple: why do you allow some teams to tank (Philly, Detroit, San Antonio, OKC) and penalize others?

Profilbild von YoloSaint

BS. Its not worse than its been. The Jazz actually played their guys and still one of the "tanking games"

@TheSteinLine Answer the question, Commissioner, how it was possible that Luka was stupidly traded to the Lakers with Dallas miraculously getting the 1st pick in the draft with less than a 2% odds? Don’t talk about integrity when the league has been rigging the game for years. Big markets win

The other question I would have asked is “are you willing to buy the Jazz for $6 billion and move them to Vegas because you clearly hate the Jazz being in Utah?”

It’s OKC’s world, we are just living in it. Anytime they want a call to go their way, even in a game they didn’t play in, they get it.

Utah got fined a half a million dollars in a game where their star players played at least half the game and WON. Make that make sense

Clippers paid Kwahi an extra 75 million through passthrough LLCs. Completely circumventing NBA cap rules. Silver has yet to issue an opinion.
