The COP29 Presidency continued its participation in the UNGA, with President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev delivering remarks at an event hosted by the “Troika” of COP presidencies in which he urged parties to align their NDCs with the 1.5°C goal. Other Presidency engagements focused on closing the adaptation finance gap and aligning trade and climate finance with decarbonization efforts. The day also saw the launch of the Baku Global Climate Transparency Platform and the signing of the Letter of Intent for the Baku Initiative for Climate Finance, Investment, and Trade (#BICFIT).
