Added a shield. Investigating how one can remove stamina. Using points you replenish by attacking. Works okay until my play tester found an obvious cheese strategy.

I had a counter attack system in my game- thought it was really clever/fun way to keep the player engaged with a micro loop. Until he stopped using everything else as it was the most efficient way to eliminate enemies ( and ended up making the combat boring)

Defend, roll and attack ⚔️. Maybe you could make it so that you recover defense resources only when killing enemies, and for tougher enemies landing a series of attacks (more or less 3) could also recover a resource.🤔

Maybe full refill stamina pips after dealing a significant amount of damage (for large enemies/bosses), getting a kill, or taking damage instead of after each hit? Another possibility is to make the shield a consumable that breaks and make other such items for your off hand.
