I tried to use your app but it tries to open in landscape orientation and crashes immediately on ios 26. I thought you might want to know and there was no private way to message you.

I updated to 26.1 and it worked. Quite a few other apps were crashing. Probably an iOS issue.

I can't connect directly to Goodreads but I did make it fairly easy to import your Goodreads library into Epilogue. It brings over books, notes, and ratings! It's live! Lots of improvements coming in the next few weeks.

Hi Kris, just downloaded the app. Love it so far. Tried adding a book using cover and bar code but it didn't work.

It worked when I have only the QR code in the frame and nothing else. And I can't get close to it too much since iPhone isn't able to get it in focus with it that close.

I’ve seen this post on FYP, checked the Twitter account for Epilogue, checked the website for it, and I still don’t know what specifically does the app do. Do I scan the book and get access to an ebook? Is it just for cataloging?

Good call. it's a reading companion for physical book readers. Save quotes, notes, ask questions about what you're reading.

Loooove seeing this! I've been stuck on label recognition for my wine collection app, and considered barcode scanning as a fallback. Did you also try front cover recognition? I've tried multiple APIs, reverse image search, ocr, etc. Still giving more false than positive results.

Thanks! It’s a tricky problem. Feels very fragile at times but overall I think works pretty well. Yes it works with like 90% accuracy for book covers. Working on making it more robust. Spines work too but the accuracy does drop a little.

@jcmcd50 I have a notes, highlights, and quotes feature but it's all on device for a reason. I likely won't connect to other services for now. But I'll keep that in mind! Thanks for the words!

Yeah that’s part of the api. Easy to adjust book covers in the app to select the perfect one.

Your journey in creating Epilogue has been so cool to watch. I’d love to learn more about your build process with Vibe Coding. Vibe coding seems to lead to messiness, loss of context, & difficulty implementing new features, even with PRDs and task lists in my experience Any tips?

Looks great! Maybe some nicely formatted placeholders for "image not found" or an AI-assist there for generating 'em? Could be a bigger scope than you want, but I imagine if you could add support for DVDs/Blu-Rays, CDs, vinyl, etc, some of those folks might dig this.

Thanks Bryce! Yeah it's an issue with API and will be fixed. You can change covers in the app very easily and quickly to select your favorite, curated cover.
