Adding Savarkar to the syllabus is welcome but removing Iqbal is not. Include Iqbal, then describe in detail his vile bigotry. We don’t want our next generation to not know about Iqbal; we want our next generation to know the truth about Iqbal. My views:

Sir why don't you join this government in an advisory capacity? You are badly needed.

Exactly. We need to know both sides of Iqbal. Most of the Indians know him only for Saare Jahan se Achchha.

Omission is certainly not the way ahead, correction is. Let's present the facts as they are.

Another brilliant oratory from you. Politicians with a vested interest can't create false heroes if authentic and unbiased history is taught. Transformation of Iqbal to a bigot must be taught to help others not following the same path.

Congress rewrote Indian history by glorifying the Mughals and also embellishing Gandhi and Nehru's efforts in the Indian freedom struggle. Not a single chapter on the struggle of Veer Savarkar and other less known freedom fighters who were not in the Gandhi team.

Shocked that uptill now sarvakar was not included in the syllabus. I wonder how many other hindu nationalist, heroes and revolutionaries have been excluded. Iqbal should be only a foot note only. When i was in high school in early fifties, the school used to teach us about it

This monologue reminded me of Brigadier Rudrapratap demolishing the bigotry of radical G haadis. Each point demolishes a potential counter even before it will be raised. Veer Savarkar was & remains foremost Bharatiya patriot & a proud Sanatani whilst Iqbal left behind his ghaadis
