The internet has provided a relatively free channel for information flow which, on aggregate, lifts the veil of ignorance and drives decolonization. I am from Kerala and Studied in Kerala State Syllabus . but I have never studied about C Sankaran Nair in My social studies text book even though he was from Kerala. I first heard about him from @PanickarS while he was quoting C Sankaran Nair w.r.t brutal Moplah Riots of 1921

Malayalis of my generation who paid attention in history class have heard of Sir C Sankaran Nair, as he appeared in those books. Incidentally, he is diplomat KPS Menon jr's maternal grandfather, and Shivshankar Menon's great grandfather. He is also Gen. K P Candeth's maternal grandfather (the liberator of Goa)

Well I admit I did not know about him or nor remember reading about him. As for the Jalianwala Baug Massacre, we always forget that the guns Dyer commanded were fired by Sikhs and Gurkhas. Dyer apparently chose them for the utmost loyalty to the British Empire.

It's because he was very critical of the "Mahatma" and wrote a book about the imposter and his ridiculous policies. His legacy, like many others participating in the freedom struggle, was completely erased in post independence India.
