Boxing sparring may be serious, but we have to be honest that it’s not the most effective way to learn and grow as an athlete. There are so many studies on learning and the environments that facilitate it, and being beat up, worried, and cautious isn’t that.

Green is right, that’s why many boxers don’t improve or are forced to fight 20 journeymen to progress with their skill set. Hard sparring has its place but you don’t sharpen your skills in heated battles in the ring. Timing, technique and accuracy are improved through light spars
