Ads for Halo in 2009 vs 2024

Seriously one of the greatest game trailers of all time. The only 2 that come close are the Gears of War Mad World trailer and the Dead Island trailer.

That ODST ad had you wanting to fight for an army that doesn't even exist. It was far better than any ad every produced by the U.S. military, even the much loved "army of one"

Between this and Gears of War and Starship Troopers, 15 year old me was so psyched to fight aliens.

Comparing a TV ad to a Tiktok clip is not a fair comparison

I agree. The fact Halo went from absolute perfection of a live action televised commercial to chasing tiktok trends for attention says so much.

Crazy just how many people are rushing to defend a corporate sponsored tiktok.

Yeah that trailers good. Not Believe or ODST good, but fine. My point was more to the sad state of Halo in general. It was a cultural phenomenon and with Halo 3 being the number 1 selling game in 07. Whose playing infinite? Why are they making unfunny tiktoks? Sad.

First one is a work of art, enjoyable even if you knew nothing about Halo. Second one is forgettable slop.

One was a labor of love that happened to be a product, the other is a product pretending to be a labor of love.
