Such thoughts are rare these days. On the contrary in my experience i have discovered that unwarranted interference from parents in the couple's life have destroyed marriages

Sir not true. This is rather pushing daughter to follow what here in laws say because her father said so

If one piece of advice can make you stronger for rest of life, it should be welcomed with both arms. We waste our energies in so many unnecessary things which we realise in later part of life. Realise early & in good times so that you can enjoy life more than expected. Cheers!!
