This visit comes at a critical time, in a context of persistent tensions, and a few days before my briefing before the United Nations Security Council. Today, I met with the leadership of the Congo River Alliance (AFC/M23). This meeting is part of a continuing joint effort that began several months ago for the benefit of the population. As you know, with the facilitation of the ICRC, the Congolese government, the AFC/M23 and MONUSCO, 1,359 elements of the FARDC and the PNC were transferred from Goma to Kinshasa.
