Morocco paid their way to the final. None of their players was cautioned from the group stage until after senegal Boycott. When Morocco vs. Tanzanian vs. Mali vs. Cameroon vs. Nigeria, the referees were in favor of them & overlooked their faults and denied oponets opportunities.

The only mistake here was that VAR didn't intervene in Senegal's goal, it was the referee that blew a foul for Morocco. Well, I loved what the Senegalese coach did, Morocco would have scored that penalty if he didn't and would have won. The disruption affected Morocco.

Dangerous precedent to set though.. Imagine all teams walked off after a bad refereeing decision

That pitch walk off was effective. It is the only reason we are where you and most people are able to now dig out the unfriendly treatments dished out to Senegal before the game. Morocco were not good host, they did similar things to other teams prior to that final and none were reported on. That unorthodox move by Senegal’s coach paid off not only helping them overcome during the game but it will get CAF to really have the conversation about whether they want to fix themselves or continue this scandalous behavior. #AFCON2025

Just on X.. all my other platforms are cooking. 😉 Also needed a little break after the Morocco trip. Much needed family time

Noted. Okay which other platforms if you don't mind. We missed your analysis here but break time is needed. All the best for 2026

Though it was a dangerous precedent for them to walk off. But i feel it was needed. I feel refereeing decisions where done to favor morocco. I mean almost all their games they wey favored, officiating against Nigeria and Cameroon was disgraceful, Senegal got the memo and fought

Fair analysis. So much drama man 🤣🤣🤣. Wtf are ball boys doing taking towels from a professional footballer. It was a disgrace by Morocco

Moroccan journalists walking out of the presser with coach Pape Thiaw but many news articles framing it as them jeering him?! Almost to justify the behaviour.

I belive CAF & FIFA wanted morocco to win. How can u cancel the 94th min goal for a slip from Yakima, how is that a foul and VAR was there, only just to give them a last min penalty. I fully support senegal

@ThaboMasterP VAR didn’t rule out the goal. The ref did. VAR was not involved in that first goal situation. They did so in the second

It was NOT catastrophic. It was pure entertainment for neutrals, and a learning curve on how officials need to be maintain discipline. Great tournament!

It COULD have been catastrophic IF the game never finished.. that was my point

Profilbild von Skhumbuzo Jwara

Fair enough. My general issue with a lot of commentary around this is that it’s not a isolated incident. Even at Club level, it’s known how Morocco and some North African teams behave. This would never have happened in Botswana, for instance. Thanks for your analysis.

Teams should not continually allow themselves to be used as accessories to match fixing, the officials have highly favoured Morocco in this tournament which is unfair to the other teams. The referee frustrated the Nigerian team when they face Morocco. I think this kind of reaction is good to set things straight, teams should have done this in the world cup, maybe the Argentine dwarf would not have won the unmerited world cup trophy.

Disgraceful scenes coming from Morocco. The FA and organisers are a disgrace to African football. What has the GKs towel gat to do with you? Must you win at all cost? Football won yesterday and deservedly so.

Very honest assessment. Thank you Unfortunately CAF is going whitewash the investigation, and just focus on punishing Senegal 🇸🇳 for not allowing Morocco 🇲🇦 win.

Thank you for your observations as you saw it yesterday, football is something that unites the world and it is one game that we Africans love so much from the bottom of our heart But it should be a fair play not the CAF trying to favour one particular team, we all saw how they were trying to make sure Morocco wins the tournament Which is totally not unacceptable and I think the decision of the Senegalese coach was the best decision ever taken since the history of AFCON, and I believe CAF has learned their lesson last night You can see the quality of the referee that officiates every single match the Moroccans played in this tournament 1 Morocco Vs Mali 2. Morocco Vs Tanzania 3. Morocco Vs Cameroon 4. Morocco Vs Nigeria All the referees that officiates these matches were all biased just to favour Morocco

CAF should also review d performance of d referees. Is it possible to host AFCON outside Africa? Jst as the Spanish and Italian Super Cups are sometimes played outstide Europe? I’m saying this because it is obvious that African hosting countries put the officials under pressure

dat mini protest allowed d world to see all d crap dey had 2 take 2 get 2 dat point. FIFA has 2 absolutely make a harsh decision with Morocco getting d toughest punishment. You are d host and you do all dis in both semi & final. Even Morocco media did a walk off. Horrible country

This is not the first time this dubious officiating has occured. during the CAF Champions League it happens when its a team from North Africa v the rest of Africa. So while not great, at times you have to stand up for what is right and fair in the most peaceful way possible.

The Moroccan FA should seriously be punished by CAF for what transpired on the day. You can’t have ball boys man handling professional footballers. Senegal should also receive a fine for the walk out as well whether or not it was justified.

Morocco came to final with many questionable referees' decisions that made many of us felt this tournament is reggad in favour of Morocco, Senegal fought for what they've believed is right I may not condone their actions but they sent a lesson big up to that.

You must stop saying every bad shit that happens in Africa speaks of all of African football. When shit happens in Europe, you never equate it to disaster for European football. If you don’t know what to say, do us a favour and shut up.

Walking off the pitch was for me the best decision. Or how would you explain a situation where the referees have been favouring Morocco. They favoured Morocco against Cameroon, same thing happened against Nigeria. Must Morocco win 2026 AFCON for god's sake. Hakimi lost my respect

Without approving of walking of the pitch I think when you add up all the issues before and during the match it was explainable. You can only accept so much injustice.

@CAF_Online should be boycotted if they sanction Senegal. their organization of the #AFCON2025 Final was disastrous in my own opinion. you don’t side with one side especially when it’s clear to all to see the hostilities carried out by the Moroccons.

We may not support players walking off the pitch but the demo was necessary, it signifies "we are tired of Morocco" but the come back was necessary, had they not got back it could be a disappointment, but stepping out was necessary representation of all teams went thru 🇲🇦 drama

You are honest because you neutral. Caf and FIFA officials might come with different findings in favor of Morocco. Let's wait and see after the Fifa World Cup
