Affair proof your marriage

No, she was lonely. She felt overwhelmed and she met an attractive doctor and her mind went to fantasy mode. There’s no indication that the doctor had any interest in her at all.

Too many people don’t understand the point. She did good. Smart and loyal wife. Be more like her and turn from temptation.

This isn’t the start of affairs it’s the start of limerence. That doctor shared something and she turned it into a fantasy that made her feel guilty about her marriage. That’s fair and very human. She was right not to pursue but I think the idea there was something actually there may be overinflated. She probably should have also shared this with her husband who would have probably said “yeah I’m grateful that you respect and love me enough to give me all these beautiful kids.” Cuz that’s all that ever exchanged before the fantasies started.

The reactions here are odd. This is a human with a solid head on their shoulders. Emotions like this are totally normal. And yes - it is almost certainly how an affair can begin without premeditation/intent. Seeing it and removing it is smart and not a sign of a problem.

You didn’t do anything special. Be careful or you’ll dislocate your shoulder patting yourself on the back. Crazy that you’d assume someone treating you professionally had any interest in you personally. You should be embarrassed telling this story.

Plot twist her kids are 20 years old now and she still thinks of their pediatrician!

This is so completely spot on. As a pastor of 34 years, I’ve had situations, not so much where I was attracted, but women who were hurting and needed counsel. In many, many situations I have referred them to other women. Not because I didn’t want to help them or felt compassion for them, but because I saw potential danger in any woman besides my bride becoming emotionally dependent on me.

I quit my job because the boss's wife started flirting with me. My wife is much more important than it paycheck. Good job!

It's human nature to be attracted to other humans. It's maturity and growth that prevents it's progression

somewhere a pediatrician is watching this video and laughing his ass off.

She didn't tell her husband, but she'll go on social media and tell the world?

its not that deep...

a woman's brain hamster wheel turning a mile a minute she took a doctor practicing good bedside manner and made it into something else

So about 15 years ago, I had just gotten my hair done and I was about to go and do a gentle workout at the Sports Club LA. As I looked into the gym, I saw that Tom Brady was working out. I thought you know what, I am happily married, he’s happy…I don’t need to go in to do a workout right now. So I went on my way.😂

Sadly, this woman is mentally ill. The doctor was being pleasant and nice. Period. She was already having an affair in her mind’s eye. She is psycho.

THIS is how you do it. The second you are attracted run, do not walk away. Leave your job, find a new doctor...whatever it takes to protect your marriage and family.

Yes. As a woman if you meet a man whom you find attractive and whom you shared a connection with at any given point and you’re already in a relationship, the best thing to do is to avoid that person again. I have also changed doctors because of this. Understand yourself.

Exactly! Cheaters blame a "vulnerable moment" for their cheating, but that moment didn't happen out of nowhere. You created the circumstances for it by hanging out with someone you could be attracted to. Married ppl should spend very little time with other ppl of the opposite sex

i think everyone is missing an important detail: why did she immediately assume the doctor would even wanna pump and dump her?

Redditors will say the man is insecure for worrying about their woman around other guys. Fucking cucks

Anyone can be suddenly attracted to someone, even if happily married with children, but if you are, you recognise that you’re human and you take yourself away from the situation straight away. There is just too much to lose, it’s enormous. You walk away quick and don’t look back.

It's hilarious that she assumed she had a chance and that she could pursue him and it would go exactly where she wanted it to go in her fantasy.

A wise woman. “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.”

Truth! James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

So the doctor was doing his job and being nice and didn’t make a pass at you, mentioned his own wife and children, and you jump to, “is this how affairs start?”

To all the people commenting that she’s crazy for fantasizing that she could be with the Dr, you’re missing her point. She removed herself from even having the possibility of an affair. She knew herself well enough not to trust herself being around him. Props to her

This lady thinks a doctor saying “you’ve got a lovely family” means he’s proposing? 😂 Ma’am, he’s just trying to keep you as a patient, not start a family with five kids. That’s narcissism with a co-pay.

Ma’am 🤣🤣🤣 That doctor didn’t even remember your name when you walked out the room and you’re over here switching doctors because you felt a tingle talking to an attractive man gtfoh

This lady is delusional if she thinks the doctor had any interest in her. She’s made up a scenario in her head that doesn’t exist.

For all the real smart guys “you’re telling him now” Do you think she has five young children and visits the paediatrician today? He has likely passed. She’s passing on how she protected her marriage from her naïve self when she felt something stir within herself.

Lady, you read wayyy too much into that conversation.

What makes you think the good Dr would have wanted this hag?

This is why younger women need older women in their lives. To teach us this kind of wisdom from their own experiences.

If I were married (and I’m not, so I’m open to pushback here), what I would feel most secure hearing from my wife is this: “Yes there are other men I find attractive. But I am committed to you, and I take that seriously so you don’t have to worry”. That would strike me as honest, and that honesty would make me feel safe. To me it seems very fragile to base the integrity of one’s monogamy on “I’m only attracted to one person”. That just doesn’t seem like a very stable state of affairs. It’s like someone basing their sobriety on “I never go anywhere where there’s alcohol”. That doesn’t seem like a sober person to me. That seems like someone who’s in the first stage of white knuckle recovery.

I believe she made a mountain out of a molehill. I don’t think he would have mentioned his wife (and children) during their first meeting if he were trying to initiate an affair.
