Affordability and climate action go hand-in-hand — and that couldn’t be more clear than with California’s Cap-and-Invest program.

Dear Governor Newsom, I was filling up my own tank when your clip hit my feed. Forty-some dollars for a tank that used to cost thirty, watching the numbers spin, and there you were on my phone, hair perfect, telling a room in New York that "affordability and climate action go hand-in-hand." I actually laughed out loud at the pump. The guy at the next island looked at me like I'd lost it. I hadn't. I'd just watched the Governor of California explain, with a straight face, that the state with the highest gas prices in the entire country has cracked the code on affordability. I don't think you ran the arithmetic before you said that line. Chevron itself sent your office a letter warning what Cap-and-Invest would do at the pump. Your own Legislative Analyst's Office ran the numbers. Republicans are pricing the next round of changes at close to another dollar a gallon by 2030, stacked on a Low Carbon Fuel Standard that already took a bite this year. Some industry estimates have California heading toward eight dollars a gallon. Eight. So which is it, Governor? Affordable, or climate policy? Pick one sentence. You don't get to sell me both halves like they're the same thing. Before I even get to the fun part, I have to deal with something you said out loud, apparently without anyone in the room stopping you. You called Greg Abbott a man without "the backbone" to lead. Governor Abbott. Who is in a wheelchair. Because his spine was severed. I'm not going to spend paragraphs on that. I'm just going to let it sit exactly where you left it, because you did all the work for me on that one. Now. The train. You told voters, in 2008, thirty-three billion dollars and a three-hour ride from LA to San Francisco by 2020. It's 2026. Six years past your own deadline. Not one paying passenger has ever boarded. Not one mile of track carries a train today. Your own rail authority's 2026 business plan puts the price at two hundred thirty-one billion dollars, and even the shrunken stub between two towns most Californians couldn't find on a map isn't supposed to open until 2032. Your own inspector general said this August the project is broke again, eighteen billion already spent, another ninety to a hundred ninety-five billion needed just to maybe finish it, and that the authority has been "obscuring" facts from the lawmakers supposed to be watching it. Your own Assembly leader wants to pull the plug. Picture that number. Two hundred thirty-one billion dollars. What does California have to show for it? A viaduct in Kern County and a press release. Here's what actually chaps me about all of this, and it's not the price tag by itself. It's that you had two hundred thirty-one billion real dollars, and if the climate were genuinely the point instead of the photo op, that money could have put power lines underground so your own utilities stop starting the wildfires that torch more carbon in one bad August than a decade of tailpipes ever could. It could have funded the forest thinning nobody wants to pay for until the next Paradise happens. It could have kept every nuclear plant in the state running at full tilt and built three more behind it, real zero-carbon power that doesn't care whether the wind is blowing. Instead you bought a very expensive hole in the ground in the Central Valley, and you're asking me to call that leadership. Jim Quinn's First Law: liberalism always produces the exact opposite of its stated intent. You promised affordability and climate action, hand in hand, and what California actually got was the most expensive gas in America and a train that is, and I mean this with real affection, all hat and no cattle. What's next, I suppose California balances a budget on schedule for once... wait, I was just told the state is staring down a multi-year deficit while it keeps signing checks for a train nobody has ever ridden. But what do I know. I'm only someone who checks the receipt before he calls it a bargain. @TPUSA @JoJoFromJerz @atrupar @TheYoungTurks #MAGA #Veterans #Trump

Affordability you say? Have you seen what you have done to California’s electricity ⚡️ prices?

YOU’RE A GLOBALIST LYING PIECE OF SHIT. You have committed crimes against humanity, including corruption, bribery, and fraud at minimum with the high-speed rail nothing can stop what’s coming for you. You’re gonna have some beautiful new steel bracelet soon.

Affordability you say?

🔥Everything you touch goes to SH!T you dumbass!🖕🏽👀🖕🏽

Sideshow Gavin. Flim-flam man.

It's going great Gavin! Keep it up!

Newsom’s California ranks bottom in affordability

Yes, they do. "Climate action" is expensive. It costs us trillions in taxes. That makes things unaffordable for us. We get nothing for it. Glad we could have this talk. 😉

POS liar, we have the highest electricity rates in the country, and you think sending us back $40 once a year offsets the high electricity rates? You couldn't be more disconnected from Californians.

Is this “affordability”? This is a monthly electricity bill in SoCal!! Newscum can you not give my tax dollars to illegals and pay my bill?

Never Gavin Newsom for prez in 2028.

What Gavin Newsom fails to admit is his funders and pushes of the "green energy scam" have a button they can push to disable all of Americas green energy.

Climate hoax is the ultimate victim. You can use it to justify your overreach while the “victim” remains silent. Cap & Trade/Investment costs all consumers. It will end when Steve Hilton is our governor and you’re in jail.

I hope your veto of bill ab 1729 bites you in the ass. Don’t go asking for state workers votes when you are against the majority.

🛑 It's costs MORE to charge your electric car in CA than to fill up with GAS. I don't call that working for Americans.

@grok Where does California rank in affordability?

Can you name one thing that is more affordable in California?

DEMOCRATS CREATE THE PROBLEM - AND SOMETIMES, MOSTLY they never seem to fix the problems they create. THEY ALLOW THE PROBLEMS TO FESTER like a bacterial infection - and wipe it down every once in a while. GAVIN NEWSOM YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.

Gavin Newsom says this shit knowing full well that Democrat Party controlled California has one of the highest energy costs in the country.

As of September 2026 Most Expensive States for Residential Electricity Average Rate (¢/kWh): Hawaii 52.72 California 34.74 Cheapest States for Residential Electricity Nevada 13.11 Nebraska 13.25 Utah 13.37 Louisiana 13.49 Tennessee 14.07 The average USA rate is 18.34¢ per kWh

Your hair can no longer hide your horns. God, you are so disgusting!

I’m from California. This is all bullshit. Just try to sell crap.

@avibebert Get him out or get yourselves out of California before it’s burned down into ashes!

Hey Moron you are the one who fucked up California not President Trump. No wonder you are polling in the single digits. You're a piece of shit that should have been flushed down the shitter a long time ago.

Bragging about giving a small amount in a rebate while creating policies that increased user costs well above that little rebate. What a clown.

Newsom spent $41 billion on green energy CA utility rates went UP 47-67% Nationwide utility rates only went up 23% in the same time frame NO ONE can afford Newsom

Hey Gavin, give me a ballpark estimate: by how many degrees did your expensive policies actually change Earth’s temperature?

The cap and invest program in California is ripe with fraud. This state cannot manage anything without massive loss of capital. Don’t buy the words, do your own research and you will find out how poorly the program is run.

The high speed rail was a great “cap and invest” project! Proved to the world your competence and ability to get things done! Nice job! 😬😂

Fraud and fraud go hand in hand 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

Hand in hand? More like boot to balls.
