ECOWAS DOES FRANCE'S DIRTY WORK IN BENIN Days after Benin's thwarted anti-imperialist coup of 7 December, much about the event remains shrouded in mystery. But what is clear is that President Patrice Talon's pro-Western regime remains firmly in power, propped up by occupying forces from Nigeria and at least four of Benin's other neighbours in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). In part 2 of our interview with Nigerian journalist David Hundeyin of West Africa Weekly, he breaks down the sordid role Nigeria -- and ECOWAS as a whole -- have played as regional enforcers for European (especially French) imperial interests. The increasingly embattled Western compradors that remain in West Africa have closed ranks. Learning from what happened to their counterparts in the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), they have installed a "continental early warning system" with EU help to strangle popular coups in the cradle. This mechanism has now snapped into action in Benin with devastating results for its popular movements and their allies in the military. Hundeyin also points out that Nigeria deployed state-of-the-art weaponry in this operation that has never before been seen in action -- even during a decade of warfare against Boko Haram and other Al Qaeda-affiliated extremists. For him this is a clear indication that such groups have served Western imperial interests from the beginning, unlike the ill-fated coup leaders in Benin. #SecurityAlert Africa’s Intelligence Failure Against an Evolving Terror Threat According to the U.S. military, African intelligence services and their international partners are facing mounting difficulties in deeply infiltrating terrorist networks operating across the continent. Penetrating the inner workings of these groups, including their leadership, command structures, operational capabilities, financial architecture, and long-term strategic intentions, has become increasingly elusive as they continue to execute devastating and highly coordinated surprise attacks across Africa. The recent large-scale attack in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), claimed by Islamic State Central Africa Province (ISCAP), and the earlier sophisticated assault in Mali claimed by Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM), underscore a troubling reality: these groups are becoming more adaptive, more secretive, and operationally more sophisticated. Their ability to conceal networks, preserve command structures, and strike with precision highlights serious intelligence gaps and exposes vulnerabilities within regional security frameworks. Even more alarming is the steady evolution of their capabilities. The growing use and acquisition of drones, increasingly sophisticated weapons systems, and technology-driven financial mechanisms suggest that these groups are not merely surviving counterterrorism pressure, but actively modernizing and adapting to the demands of contemporary warfare. This trajectory should serve as a stark warning to intelligence and security institutions across Africa and beyond. Unless intelligence services dramatically improve infiltration capabilities, regional coordination, technical surveillance, and financial tracking mechanisms, the continent risks confronting extremist organizations that are increasingly agile, technologically enabled, and capable of launching more lethal and unpredictable operations with strategic effect. To all Muslims in Nigeria, take time to reflect and learn from the unfortunate events at AFCON ’26, especially the match between the host nation Morocco 🇲🇦 and Senegal 🇸🇳. Both are predominantly Muslim countries, with over 97% of their populations identifying as Muslim. What may interest you is ther collective histories. The then king of Senegal (the King of Tekrur) was introduced to Islam by the Arabs, the ancestors of present-day Moroccans. He adopted Islam and initially introduced it to his people peacefully, but later enforced it through jihad warfare. Fast forward to today: Senegal is about 97% Muslim. Considering this history, one would expect Moroccans to treat Senegalese with respect, given that Senegal was successfully Islamized centuries ago and even carried out jihad on behalf of Arab merchants. But, as I have always said, no matter how hard we try as Africans, we cannot gain true respect anywhere in the world by clinging to the very regions and identities that were used to colonize us. You cannot be more Islamic than the Arabs, neither can you be more Christian than the Christiandom who brought this foreign religion to your doorstep. Despite Senegal being a Muslim country, and despite having fought jihad on behalf of Arabs, the Senegalese were still allegedly referred to as “monkeys” during AFCON by Moroccans. They were attacked and assaulted. Yet, the spirit of Africa, the God of Alkebulan, not Allah, granted victory to the best player at the end of the match. Do not get me wrong. I am not asking anyone to abandon his or her beliefs or religion. I am only urging us to begin to see and act beyond religion by putting humanity first and embracing our cultural values as African people. ~OIA✊🏼

WATCH: Following my trip to Ukraine, it appears that Vladimir Putin’s personal media advisors, including Russian TV host Vladimir Solovyov, are having a total meltdown over how to contain their messaging and propaganda to convince the world that they are “winning the war” with Ukraine. They are foaming at the mouth that I had the audacity as Jew to interview the founder of Azov Battalion (who they call a Nazi) and the head of Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corp Третій армійський корпус, and now these Russian state media operatives are calling for me to be assassinated because I dared to ask Ukrainian General Andrii Biletskyi, “why is Putin still alive 5 years into the war”? Am I really the first person to ask this question on camera in the era of modern warfare? Seems like I really rattled these Russian propagandists and Putin’s personal Presstitutes… Additionally, Vladimir Solovyov further defended Russia assisting Iran in attacking American soldiers during the Iran war and said “of course” Russia is going to help Iran fight against the United States. Russia is a terrorist state and Vladimir Putin is the biggest terrorist in Europe. He’s killed more European civilians than ISIS and Al Qaeda combined. This is numerically and factually correct. He wants to hold the entire world hostage with nuclear weapons and all of Europe is next if Ukraine doesn’t win. Putin is an incompetent “leader” whose countrymen are being slaughtered daily by his own hubris so he can satisfy his ego. He is a toddler with a nuclear arsenal. Watch this video. His own “followers” don’t even believe the Pravda they spread. They are literally crying in this video about Russian citizens seeing the truth about how vulnerable Russia is. If Russia is so great, why did Putin send his daughter to live in Paris with African migrants? 🤔

LUMUMBA DISCIPLE'S FIGHT FOR A FREE CONGO Many people worldwide celebrate the life and legacy of Congolese Pan-Africanist Patrice Lumumba (1925-61). After his assassination at the hands of Western-backed Congolese forces, guerilla warfare broke out across the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to restore the power of revolutionary Pan-Africanists and socialists. African Stream's Inem Richardson delves into the story of Pierre Mulele (1929-68), a 'Lumumbaist' who led the historic Kwilu Rebellion in the country's centre while revolutionaries waged the Simba rebellion in Eastern Congo. These socialist revolutionaries drew inspiration from Pan-Africanists, such as Lumumba and Ghana's Kwame Nkrumah (1909-72), as well as Karl Marx (1818-83), Vladimir Lenin (1870-2024), and Mao Zedong (1893-1976). The Simba rebellion led to the declaration of a Peoples' Republic of the Congo, with Stanleyville as the capital (not to be confused with the Peoples' Republic of the Congo with Brazzaville as the capital). Countries such as China and Cuba provided material support and training to the rebels. Ernesto 'Che' Guevara, the Argentine revolutionary who won a place in history for his role during the Cuban revolution, travelled with other Cuban militants in the Congo to fight alongside the Congolese guerillas. Women also played a key role in the rebellion, with one scholar estimating women made up as much as 25 to 30 per cent of Kwilu rebels. Léonie Abo, now 80 years old, stands out as a combattant who fought alongside her husband, Pierre Mulele. Ultimately, internal disorganisation, low morale, and competing factions within the rebel forces crushed both the Simba and Kwilu rebellions. Some say various imperialist forces also worked together to thwart a revolution and prop up reactionaries. Nevertheless, Mulele, like Lumumba, remains a hero in the Democratic Republic of the Congo today.

Discussing what is going on in the West African Region, especially around the the AES States, one needs to factor it in a broader perspective of how Africa has failed to sustain its revolutionary gains in the past, since independence. The mistake African Revolutionary leaders, in the past, an probably, even now, is to imagine that the REVOLUTIONARY WARS END WITH THE CAPTURE OF STATE POWER. Few realise that capturing STATE POWER alone constitutes very tiny space in the overall power dynamics of defeating IMPERIALISM. The Revolutionary War just enters a NEW PHASE, even more dangerous. That is the mistake NRA/M made in 1986. The euphoria of capturing State power seems to have confused us to think we had attained VICTORY, instead of a mere PAUSE IN COMBAT OPERATIONS to replenish our reserves for a new VERY DANGEROUS PHASE! So we abandoned our mindset of TRENCH WARFARE and eating our EMPENGELE/EMBELENGE, into tasting SAUSAGES, and SLEEPING IN LINEN BEDSHEETS! THE RESULTS: FIRSTLY: We had to surrender to IMF/WB; in effect, to IMPERIALISM! So we brought in the old CORROBORATORS of the EMPIRE, who now assumed key responsibilities; to push the REVOLUTION FOWARD, imagine that! We even gave them THE DEFENCE POTIFOLIO AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT(RC System), the two areas we OUGHT TO HAVE LEFT PURE! Actually, they even took Internal Affairs(-Mzee Kawanga). FINANCE(Ponsiano Mulema) etc! SECONDLY: We lost the CRADLE OF THE REVOLUTION; LUWEEO, OUR MECCA! And can assure you, the whole IMPACT OF THIS IS YET TO BE FELT! THIRDLY: We have a NEW FACE ON THE UGANDAN POLITICAL SCENE. The new face you hear in International Media and Local Media, even on the Streets of Kampala, as the likely "SAVIOUR OF UGANDA". The NEW FACE OF OPPOSITION POLITICS, now is not the one groomed in the TRENCHES OF LUWEERO, not even ONE FROM NRA POLITICAL SCHOOLS which have been churning out graduates since 1987! Nor a Cadre of NRA by Historical connectedness, but one whose greatest fame was by his hit "AKAGOMA KALUBENDLA"; just yesterday, 👇👌😎! And i say this with no disdain, or ill will at all. I see some people trying to block him on his campaign trail. Don't waste your time. Even if Bobi Wine doesn't campaign and just goes to his beach and relaxes, his message of AKAGOMA KALUBENDELA is already out there on every Gen-Z's Smartphone! But here is the thing; BOBI WINE IS OUR NRA CREATURE; he is our OWN; whether he is our best or not, is another matter! But one thing is for sure; HE IS THE MIRROR🪞 OF THE SUCCESS OR FAILURE OF NRA/M. I leave choice of which, to you.
