California Democrats are using satellite images to find structures on residents properties, like a shed that wasn’t authorized to be built, and then sending them bills for as much as $12,000 per day One family received a notice the would have a $900,000 lien out on their home from the county How is one California county using cannabis and grainy satellite images to extort millions from homeowners? This is Doug and Kareen Thomas — They moved to Humboldt County after their home burned down in the L.A County wildfires, and 6 days later, their dream property turned into a nightmare. The county said a letter saying this barn was built without a permit, and prior owners did use it for growing weed. So they had 10 days to demo the barn or face fines of $12,000 per day. And ignoring the letter would result in a $900,000 lien placed on their property, which could then be sold at a tax sale. — How is this possible? Well, Humboldt County is part of the Emerald Triangle. For decades, it's been a hotspot for OG growers. And after California went legal, the county wanted its cut. So they created an environmental response team to supposedly protect a sensitive ecosystem. In reality, it was used to weed out black market growers and incentivize them into the legal industry. They'd use old grainy satellite images to look for unpermitted development, like barns, greenhouses, grading, and even the removal of too many trees, because those things must mean you're growing weed. However, in Humboldt, people have developed property and lived off the land without permits for generations. But the county didn't care. They had a quota to me, 50 permit violations a week. — How are Humboldt County's actions any different than mob rule?”

Marc Andreessen on how the best founders navigate the “idea maze” “Entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation is what economists call decision making under uncertainty. Both parts of that are important. Decision making: you’re going to make a ton of decisions… And then uncertainty: the world’s a complicated place. In mathematical terms, the world is a complex adaptive system with feedback loops.” Military commanders call this the fog of war: “You’re just dealing with a situation where the number of variables is just off the charts.” And, as Marc explains, the best innovators deal with this in two steps. First, they “try to pre-plan as much as they possibly can.” Marc and his partners at a16z call this “navigating the idea maze.” In their head, the best founders try to have as complete of a map of possible futures as anybody possibly could. Then on Day 1, they’re in the fog of war, and a lot of the assumptions of that idea maze turn out to be wrong. So the founder must reconstruct it on the fly day-by-day as they learn and discover new things. “The great ones course-correct every single day. They take stock of what they’ve learned. They modify the plan.” The great ones also tend to think in terms of hypotheses. They tend to think: “OK, I’m going to go into the world and announce that I’m doing this for sure… And then I’m going to try it. And even though I sound like I have complete certainty, I know that I need to test to find out whether it’s going to work. And if it’s doesn’t, then I have to go back to all of those people and say we’re actually not going left, we’re going right.” And then they have to run this loop thousands of times. “You course-correct, you adjust, you evolve. Often, the businesses that end up working really well tend to be different than the original plan. But that’s part of the process of a really smart founder basically working their way through reality.” Video source: Andrew D. Huberman, Ph.D. (2023)

Conor Neill's 3-minute daily challenge to become a better speaker (backed by research): "What does it take to achieve world-class? As a musician? As a sportsman? As a speaker? Is it talent? The answer is no. The answer is 10,000 hours of practice." Conor explains: "No matter where you start from, no matter how talented a kid was in school, it's the kid that practices 8 hours a day that's now playing as a soloist with the top orchestras of the world. Leo Messi wasn't born with a better right knee and a better left foot than anyone else. It's what he chose to do every day after school, every weekend, that means he is where he is today." He shares a study that proves quantity beats perfectionism: "There was a pottery class in the United States. The teacher took half the class and said, 'Your grade will be based on the weight of pots you create.' To the other half, she said, 'You'll be evaluated on your one most finished piece.' The group measured on weight, they produced 5, 6, 7 pots a day. They tried random experiments, weird things, different ideas. Their hands were on clay from the first moment. The group evaluated on the most finished pot? They read, they thought, they talked about concepts, they went to galleries, and the first time they touched clay was 3 days before the end of class. All of the best pots were made by the group that focused on weight." He gives a simple challenge: "Every laptop comes with a webcam. Spend 3 minutes every day for the next 10 days. Record yourself. Explain a product. Explain your CV. Explain your vision. Try random things because no one else has to see it." Conor concludes: "No amount of watching YouTube videos of Bill Clinton is going to turn you into Bill Clinton. No amount of reading is going to turn you into a writer. Only by speaking do you turn into a speaker."

You know, the only reason they created that IG account was… For us. It was never about fame or money. It was their way of reaching out when everything around them was falling apart. A place where they tried to share small moments of happiness, excitement, love, and peace with us, even when they barely had any left for themselves. They made it because they were worried. Because they knew we were worried. Because they didn’t want the people who cared about them to sit there wondering if they were okay. And honestly, it was during that time that we saw them in a way we never had before. Real, unfiltered, not dressed up by a company, not edited, not scripted. Just them. That little page carried so much, didn’t it? They taught us so many things without ever needing to put on a show. Through every live and every small update, they showed us what real courage looks like, what honesty feels like, and how powerful someone can be even when everything around them is pushing back. But it was also a place that held their fear, their stress, their sleepless nights, and the weight of knowing the whole world was watching and anything they said could be twisted in an instant. It was a happy place. But never an easy one. We went through so much during that period. From the excitement of seeing them as NJZ to the shock of their injunction being enforced. So many times we thought we saw the light at the end of the tunnel, only for it to turn out to be a fire blocking the path. From excitement to anger, hope to hopelessness, joy to despair, ADHD to depression… everything, all at once. Calling it a roller coaster is an understatement. A lot changed after that. Too much, maybe. But some things never do. And after everything, it doesn’t really matter what comes next anymore. As long as they get to be truly happy, truly safe, and truly loved as human beings who deserved that from the very beginning, that’s enough for us. As long as it’s still Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein. That’s all that matters in the end. 🍀 #NewJeans #Jeanzforfree #NJZ #MhDHH_Friends

Stories after stories are surfacing, revealing the cruelty of the Zionist. Heliza and Hazwani Helmi, who were among the Malaysian delegates of the Global Sumud Flotilla mission. Here’s what they shared about their experience: - They firmly testified that the IDF soldiers are among the most inhumanly cruel people they have ever encountered. - Before the interception, their small boat was hit several times by high-pressure water cannons, violently shaking it. Despite the danger, the boat captain remained determined, checking their distance to Gaza and trying to move faster to reach it. The attacks continued until they were finally intercepted. - After the interception, they were forced to remain on the boat for seven to eight hours under the scorching sun. - The treatment they received after reaching the dock was even worse, the IDF soldiers’ cruelty intensified. - Their hands were tied behind their backs for hours. The last time they had water or food was on October 1. After that, they were denied both. - They said they genuinely thought they would die of thirst. When they begged for water, the soldiers ignored them. In desperation, they drank water from the toilet. - Before being taken to prison, Heliza was questioned by the IDF. When asked why she wanted to go to Gaza, she replied, “Because we want to give aid.” They asked, “What kind of aid?” She said, “Food aid.” When they mocked, “Why are there so many of you bringing food aid?” she answered, “To educate the world.” Upon hearing that, they smirked and said, “Welcome to jail.” - Hazwani recalled that before the interception, the IDF repeatedly hijacked their radio communication and even played a song with the haunting line, “Many more will have to suffer, many more will have to die, don’t ask me why.” - Several delegates needed medical attention, but when they requested medicine (after their supplies were confiscated), they were mocked. The soldiers sneered, “Have you died? If not, it’s not a problem.” - The sisters managed to keep their hijabs, though not without harassment. They said the female soldiers were even more vicious than the men. When ordered to remove their hijabs, they explained that it was mandatory for modesty. A male soldier later intervened, and after they explained they needed their hijabs for prayers, he allowed them to keep them on. - There were moments in their cell when delegates broke down crying together, thinking about how much worse the Palestinians endure every day. - One of the delegates sharing their cell was a 78 y.o. old woman with a broken leg, who still declared with unshaken faith, “We will return.” - They were blindfolded and confined in an extremely small space. - Only upon release were they finally given drinkable water, but it was recorded by the IDF for propaganda purposes. - Some delegates from Spain and Sweden are still detained. They told the Malaysian team to be grateful for Malaysia’s support of the Palestinian cause, and asked that the world be informed they chose to remain imprisoned as representatives of the Palestinians. - There were around 15 prison cells in total. - Before being released, every delegate shouted together, "Free, free Palestine!”unafraid even as IDF snipers pointed their guns at them. These testimonies are not just stories, they are evidence of the cruelty faced by those who stood up for humanity. Spread this. Let the world know how inhumanely Israhell treats those who dare to help Palestine, even more to the Palestinians themselves. #GlobalSumudFlottilla

A message to anybody who suffers from anxiety, depression or addiction or who knows anybody who does... Any time I am in a dark place I can end up doomscrolling on my phone looking for any sort of inspiration to get better. I’m very lucky to be feeling good at the moment so I thought I’d just walk into the sun and make a little video of hope that might just be seen by one person who needs it. 😞 I do much better now but even 3 weeks ago I had a really bad 4-5 day spell. The dark mist returned. This is a constant battle for us all. 🏃‍♂️ I’ve been back running and eating healthy and doing all the things to make myself healthy and it’s amazing how quick it makes a difference. It’s also amazing how quick you can slip with as habits. I always found Mondays tough. It’s a day when the world moves on and everybody can be seen going about their business. I would often be anxious popping a pill to get through the day or sipping on wine in the evening. If people only knew how many people sitting or working beside them on any given day are in agony and dreading the world. The one thing I wanted to get across is things do change. The sun does shine again. You can beat this. It is possible and ok to feel “normal”. Dont beat yourself up if you can’t beat it immediately or if it never seems to be ending. It took me about 43 years to get a grip of it and as I said I still struggle. It’s totally fine to admit that. Whoever you are in the world I hope you have as good a Monday as is possible. You are not alone. ❤️🙏

These two could easily milk their situation if they wanted to. Most loveteams would. They could feed the hype, keep people talking, and chase every bit of clout...especially since they're together most of the time anyway. But they don't. Dustin and Bianca don't seem interested in playing that game... To me, it feels like they genuinely want to have a normal relationship when the cameras are off. They know when it's work. They know when it's fan service. And they know when it's simply THEIR LIFE... I actually admire that. Sometimes I even feel like we're unintentionally asking too much from them. We want updates. We want photos. We want videos. We want crumbs everyday. But maybe... that's exactly what they're trying to avoid... PRESSURE... And honestly, it makes sense. Both of them have worked alongside or been around some of the biggest loveteams of this generation...KathNiel, JoshLia, and BarDa. They've probably seen both the beautiful side of it and the messy side that comes with living your relationship in public. It's funny how these former loveteams now end up choosing to keep their private lives low-key after learning those lessons the hard way. 😂 Maybe Dustin and Bianca looked at all that and thought.. They should never get to that point... I respect that.. That said... Lovebirds, since we're all working hard for the FanCon, here's our one tiny request. 🥹 We know this isn't naturally your style.. But if you could give us just a little bit more presence until the FanCon... a few posts, a few stories, a little more visibility... it would really help everyone who's been working tirelessly behind the scenes. After that? Go back to your little bubble. We'll happily let you go incognito... until work calls again. 💛 Dustin Yu Bianca De Vera #DUSTBIA #DUSTINYU #BIANCADEVERA

3 Reasons there aren’t more Black Head Coaches in the NFL. -Circumstance -Comfortability -Access It’s not a coincidence. The NFL Head Coaching fraternity is hard to break into with the amount of great coaching candidates, nepotism and back scratching that occurs that makes it tough for former players to break into the profession and climb to positions that are coveted for Head Coaching jobs. Often times owners and front office executives want to hire the people who are the best for the job, but are also the ones they are most comfortable with because they look like them, have the same or similar life experiences so they connect better with them and who they want to go golfing with. BUT ACCESS is the issue that has clear examples of how black players don't get the same treatment in coaching circles. That’s not an opinion. It’s a fact. Take a look at Quarterbacks after they finish their playing career. Some go from playing to QB coach to Offensive Coordinator to head coach conversations quickly. The fast track is real for some players. Kellen Moore went from playing to QB Coach to Offensive Coordinator in 2 years after retiring and became the New Orleans Saints Head coach 8 years after retiring. Kevin O’Connell went from playing to coaching in 2015, was an OC in 4 years by 2019 and the Minnesota Vikings Head Coach in 7 years by 2022. FAST TRACK Philadelphia Eagles OC Sean Mannion and Washington Commanders OC David Blough both went from playing to NFL Coaching staffs and OC in 3 years. FAST TRACK. We’ve seen Black quarterbacks go into coaching in this same pipeline like Byron Leftwich who became an NFL coach in 2016 as a coaching intern and was the OC of the Buccaneers by 2019. But despite winning a Super Bowl with Tom Brady, he never got a chance to be an NFL Head Coach. Why? Did he bomb the interview? Or was he just not in the right circumstance, where he made the right people comfortable or had the proper connections to determine his access. Right now if you are on Sean Mcvay's staff you are a walking head coach in waiting. All 4 of his last OCs are head coaches. -Liam Coen -Mike Lafluer -Matt Lafluer -Kevin O'Connell Because they were the best men for the job, great coaches, had the right circumstance, made the right people comfortable, and had the right conections to get access to the job. Seneca Wallace, Jason Campbell, Cleo Lemon, Randall Cunningham. Why didn't they get the same opportunity after their playing days? It’s not just a coincidence. Maybe they didn’t want to be a coach because of the long 20 year cycle they would be presented with to get to the top of the profession that is standard for most. But if you told any of them they would be an OC in 3 years or less and a Head Coach in 8 years or less. ALL OF THEM WOULD TAKE IT. But they never had access to that Fast Track pipeline. The NFL cant say we want the best leaders’ while recycling the same leader profile. And if the NFL is truly a meritocracy, then the pipeline should reflect merit, not comfort. Not ‘who looks like the last guy we trusted.’ Not who gets the benefit of the doubt for being associated with family lineages. In a league that is 70% black, the leadership should be more representative of the leagues players. There are qualified Head Coaching candidates of all skin colors. They just want a chance to succeed or fail just like their competition when their resumes clearly say they have earned it.

Part 5 of interview with Rom Braslavski. "The guy says: here's another letter. It says to tie you up and torture you. At night they came with zip-ties, tied my legs, arms, put tape on my mouth. And they had whip that they beat donkeys with. It's a pain that is not normal, like being lashed with iron whip. But first they only beat me a bit. Then they woke me up at 2 a.m. and they gave me the beating of my life. They put me against the wall, one grabs my head and the other - punches, punches. I'm trying to loose consciousness and fall. But they didn't let me lose consciousness either. They held me. Then they beat me with the donkey whip and each lash is a burn, and it's scars, scars that I have till today. One beat me with the whip and two others beat me with poles and hands. OK, I thought, it's over. I was shattered, bleeding. Every bone in my body hurt. I was happy that it's over. I went to sleep. Then 6 in the morning they came with radios. Turned on Arabic music, yelling : "Allahu Akbar, what fun, what a great day!" And again the same beating - punches, whip. That's the second round. And then the third round. And then again at noon. And then they put on music and say - move your arms, dance and laugh. My bones were hurting, it hurt to move my arms. And then another beating, more hits. And I realized I entered a loop that I doubt I'll make out of it alive. They beat me with everything they had. They broke a radio on my head. And a really big stick that they broke on me. The donkey whip got all bent. It's iron. They bent the iron from how much they beat me. It really hurt. They beat the soles of my feet, maybe 40 whips. My entire leg was swollen, red and blue. And he tells me - stand up. Stand on the foot. And it felt like they are burning me. The abuse went on like they. Day after day, hour after hour. And it's only getting more severe. About 7 rounds every day, every round about 20 minutes. There was a guy, they said it's new commander, his weight was at least 100 kg. And I weighted hardly 50 kg at that point. And he was just standing on my neck. Jumping, jumping on my neck. Standing on my head, jumping on my back. And I feel that it's breaking." Tony Robbins on how to change someone who doesn't want to change: 1. People only change when they link enough pain to staying the same or enough pleasure to changing. Ideally, both at once. This is not a mindset shift. It happens in the nervous system, not the head. Your head can know exactly what you should do, and your gut will override it every single time. 2. Yes, you can change someone who doesn't want to change. But not by forcing them. You find the leverage that makes them change themselves. Everyone has a point that will get them to follow through. For some people, it is not even the threat of their own life. For others, it is their children. For others, it is spiritual growth. The leverage is different for everyone, but it always exists. 3. The food poisoning example. You used to love a food or a drink. Then one night it came back up with enough intensity and enough aroma that to this day you cannot look at it without feeling repelled. No willpower required. Your brain simply rewired what it links pleasure to. That is the entire mechanism of change in one story. 4. Scrooge did not want to change. He was certain he did not need to change. Three ghosts showed up and did one thing: they made him link unbearable pain to his past, his present, and his future simultaneously. When there is nowhere to escape, change happens in a heartbeat. Robbins calls this the Dickens pattern. Lock pain into all three time zones at once, and there is no exit. 5. People avoid changing by escaping to a different time period. If the present is painful, escape to a good memory from the past. If the past was also painful, invent a better future and escape there. As long as one of those three zones offers relief, the pressure to change dissolves. Removing all three exits and change becomes inevitable. 6. Problem is some people have accidentally linked pain to things they actually need: exercise, intimacy, and hard conversations. The association is wrong, but it runs their life anyway. The job is not to build more willpower. It is to change what you have linked pain and pleasure to in the first place.

Pending bills at County Goverments, Parastatals and even national Goverment. I get inbox messages day in day out, its anguish and sheer torture that once successful entrepreneurs have been reduced to paupers. Counties is not that they are not getting the funding but they are busy paying their close buddies. When there is regime change you are cooked since the governor treats all previous suppliers as potential thieves. As hotels most of us ask for upfront payment, please dont pretend you are doing business when you will not even be paid . I recall as a hotel GM on several occasion in my younger days "prominent " elected leaders trying to toss a personal cheque at us knowing very well that it will not have cleared by the time they are checking out . As a hotel GM I never shied off to come and face these bullies since they intimidate my young receptionist to cave in. I used to ask them a very simple question would they attempt to pay using a personal cheque after shopping at Nakumatt ? Only then do they get into default setting and come down to earth. A good friend of min closed his travel agency office when several counties at the coast decided to delay his payments for air tickets. Just like that Ksh6m up in smoke . I know of an SME chasing payment in Nbi for the past 4 years. She was being auctioned and could see the pain in her face If there is one thing national government ought to do is to compel counties to pay all the SMES's and money would circulate. How do you procure services with no intention to pay? What has been your experience? problem shared is problem halved . As always I choose to remain an optimist that genuine suppliers majority who are SME's should get paid . My two cent advice , please don't get overly excited by that LPO. It could be your first step to insanity be very afraid . Council of Governors SpiceFM Eric Latiff
